Yes,  that's a pity.  But I'm sure once the masks are off everywhere else then public transport will follow suit.

If you're so scared of catching it,  stay at home till it all dies down.

What's really so hard about wearing a mask?
It seems like you're making a fuss over nothing.

There's a lot of countries who had a problem with people,  especially Muslim women wearing masks.  They saw them as a sign of oppression against women. They seemed to think men were forcing them to wear a mask against their will.  So I believe France stepped in and banned this. Forcing people to cover their faces isn't very nice you see.

I don't mind people wearing masks but I don't want to be forced to wear one to participate in modern life.

I remember the shock and horror on here when it was revealed that an old woman bent down to speak to a toddler on public transport and (shock horror) removed her mask so the tiny little human would see the expression in her face instead of another masked up faceless person.

New covid antibody drug approved in the EU

Quote

British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced on Monday its antibody drug Evusheld, which is taken pre-emptively to prevent COVID-19, has been approved in the European Union.

The treatment, administered in two injections, can be taken by adults and adolescents above the age of 12. In clinical trials, the drug reduced the risk of developing symptomatic COVID-19 by 77% compared to the placebo, the company said in a statement...

The irony of antivaxxers calling other people scared just blows my mind.

They're rugged individualists who have done their own research and trust their God-given immune systems.

That's all you need to know.

I've actually found it amazing how even tiny children can still read expressions when your face is largely covered by a mask :)

I frequently smile at babies in pushchairs with my mask on, and they can clearly work out what I'm doing as they smile back. Possibly helped by the crows feet around my eyes  but babies are masters of communication.

Yes, it seems surprising - that thing about smiling with our eyes is really a thing :)

Not a problem for those of us who are immunocompromised.

No, but it's a problem for our rugged individuals who are afraid of needles.

Seriously? You think humanity is that intelligent? Really?

Seriously? Really?

Cold shower time:

Are you working? Yes? You pay your taxes, right?

If you already paid your taxes then you pay also VAT for everything you buy.

If tomorrow you will sell your house or car you will pay again taxes.

Why?

You already paid your share from your net income already and paid already your taxes when you did bought what are you selling now.

Why you should pay taxes again and again for buying /selling? You paid already once.

You don't print your money, you work for it.

And you tell me that "there is no plan, nobody is that smart"

You only pay taxes if you sell things commercially.   You can sell your car or god forbid, BUY a car privately and no VAT will be paid.

I don't even understand what this has to do with anything.  Probably beer-o-clock post.

Paying tax is a mighty privilege - we live in a rich world, where we can get a job and a roof over our heads and pay tax which allows us to share some goods and many services amongst ourselves on a grand scale and you have a problem with that?

Ouch.

You live in Europe, parts of which, such as Germany, operate a reasonably socialist kind of system. Most of the shite you quote comes from the US where they operate a different system which is not doing well by great swathes of the population. It reads like utter crap here, because we can actually see the difference.

Most people who come from the UK where tax is a bit lower and the standard of life is a bit crappier, find they prefer their existence here, and pay the extra tax knowing it is worth it.

Some people really don't, and so they go back. Horses for courses.

If your main drive in life is paying lower taxes, then you are in the wrong place. But assuming you are able to feed, clothe and house yourself and your family, then what are you complaining about? Go live somewhere with no infrastructure and no support and then start talking about overlords and mighty plans.

Well, I must say that I am terrified of needles. But with this all going on, my fear has diminished significantly. Between my vaccinations, seeing all the needles of people getting vaccinations, ads for the vaccination, and having to give my cat fluid therapy for her kidneys before she passed, I have basically improved a lot. Exposure therapy I guess.

Anti-maskers could probably do with a bit more exposure therapy, lol.

I'm afraid of needles, btw. 4 times vaxxed, and I donate blood every 3 months (I have a blood type which can be given to >80% of the population). Still, every time I see a needle I get scared.

I's aggressive illiteracy that I see here, not fear,  this is a kind of modern century Luddism.

I think we are long past that yourkeu, what we see here is wilful ignorance and deliberate muck-raking. Most of the 'anti-vax/anti-mask' crowd on this site are here purely because the mods are missing in action and so they get away with it.

A while ago someone posted on one of the threads a "game" which was used for training moderators on another site. The game set you up as a 'troll' with the intention of generating traffic on a site, and it was really interesting to see how many of the winning techniques were being used by some of the people in my blocklist.

@Everyone, if you are genuine about wanting this to stop, then just disengage.

Let them have the last word, because at least it will be 'the last word' and we won't have to put up with more of this crap.

No-one is going to change their mind on this from anti-vax to pro-vax based on what we post here, but the longer the argument goes on the more likely someone who is 'undecided' makes a choice to side with the anti-vaxers.
