3G in Restaurants?

4,741 posts in this topic

Currently, restaurants, beergardens, event locations etc. are supposed to check their guests if they are:

- vaccinated, or

- recovered from Covid, or

- very recently tested.

I'm in Bavaria, which pretends to be very strict about this.

It didn't quite look that way when I recently started going to restaurants in town with friends - I may have have been checked once or twice out of 15 - 20 visits.

Do I just look so so trustworthy :D , or what's going on?

Recently I was in Bavaria and was also not asked for 3g. Here in BW it is much stricter. I even had to show my ID in addition to the immunisation qr code at the movies.

Do you mean for eating inside?  Outside is fine.  Are you happy to go inside unchecked?   Do you have to wear masks except when seated?  Is distancing enforced?   Is place well ventilated?  If not, I would not go in.  Jeremy might be there.

I was in an Indian restaurant on Mon. They didn't check anything but the tables were spaced and there were big plexiglass walls between tables. All but one waiter were wearing their masks properly. Himself was in another restaurant at the same time. No checking. Just got back from our nice Italian restaurant and no checking. At least the 2 restaurants I was in were almost empty.

Still a no go. I expect them to follow the rules as I'm immuno-compromised. I would like to know where to report them when they don't check. Gesundheitsamt perhaps?

Why are we all doing the right things while not knowing if anybody else is?

I live in BW and spotty checking is going on down here, at least at the indoor restaurants I have been to recently.  The signs are posted, but verification is usually not happening.  Others here report the same to me.

Just arrived from another well know bierhalle in Munich. In all the big ones they are quite thorough. In the small restaurants it's a fucking joke.

So right now I prefer to hang around the bierhalles than the small joints.

Haven't had a joint for 30 years, Mike!😂

Your use of the word joint reminds me of the old Chicago gangster movies!😇😂

How crowded was the Bierhalle? There were only about a dozen people in the restaurants where I went.

Today I was at Ratskeller and it was less than 50%, and there is a lot of space between tables, perfectly fine.

We didn't have anyone within 3 meters.

They were very thorough on checking the vaccination pass.

A few weeks ago I was at Augustiner biergarten and it was jam-packed. But we were outside.

Of course, the mayor has his office one floor higher 🤓.

I was also checked in my local Vietnamese and in a German place near Isartor the last week.

So how would you turn them in if they didn't?

Report to the Gesundheitsamt locally.

ETA: It might be the Ordnungsamt and Munich seems to have some whole dept. at the KVR for reporting poor hygienic conditions, but I would have to read more.

I've not been going to restaurants that much but I've been to a couple of places and did not get checked.  The only place I have gotten checked was at McD's right after 3G was announced but I've been back there since and did not get checked.

Because we are trying to behave like responsible citizens while living in an imperfect world.  Think how bad this could be if we quit behaving!  I was on the bus yesterday and watched a woman demask and talk to a toddler directly in his face, while the masked father watched.  I literally wanted to 😱.  That was on the way home from visiting someone in the hospital, where I question why there isn’t possibly a 2G rule for visitors.  I’m not in charge, but just doing my best.  🤷‍♀️

In the restaurants I  visit, about 80 % check that I have a phone with the app that shows I have been vaccinated, but they never ask to see my ID to check that, the phone vaccination, is the same name as my ID, so I could just borrow somebody else's phone or take a screen shot of some body else's phone. Basically the checks are useless.
