BREXIT positives and negatives

I read that. But a) he's an idiot. He moved to a country and didn't bother to check out, or at least keep up with what he was legally required to do to live there. And b ) if he's got a half-decent job can he not get a work permit anyway? (I have a feeling the EU blue card doesn't apply in Denmark, but maybe I'm wrong).

This is a better feel-good Brexit story:

Did we do this?

A browse through Denmark's immigration rules underlines the reputation they have as one of the most difficult countries to enter.  I sympathise with the guy. Its quite easy to put your trust in public bodies doing the work and getting it right every time. However, I think the likely outcome is he has to apply for a work permit, but gets it granted. Either that, or he has to convince the UK Immigration that he earns more than the threshold to look after his partner in the UK, and indeed convince them that she is a legit partner.

However, its only because of Brexit that all this misery and hassle is occuring at all.  I myself toyed with the idea of heading for Denmark. Its a nice country. But as a non-EU national, its more or less a non-starter now.

They wanted what was never, ever on offer but which Brexiteers like David Davis insisted was on offer: Unfettered access (membership) of the single market without the freedom of movement of labour component. That is one of the pillars of the single market. You don't get to be in the single market without it and also submitting to the European Court of Justice as the highest court of arbitration. Brexiteers thought they could bamboozle the stupid Europeans into accepting this codswallop for the exceptionalist UK.

Its debateable how much the hardcore Brexiteers really thought they could bamboozle the Europeans (they need to sell us their Mercedes and wine etc) or how much it was all  bluff i.e. just some guff, and unscientifically researched figures for the mindless masses. With the odd easy to remember slogan on the side of a bus. I suspect it was more the latter. I think the bottom line for them was, as long as we get the right result, who cares if some of the facts get a little bent.

Oh well, as US election candidates are legally allowed to lie, why not

little brother Brit politicians too?

All politicians lie. What rock have you been hiding under?

Aren't you the condescending one!

Of course we all know politicians everywhere lie but let's say it's disappointing that it's blatantly legally sanctioned in a western democracy. 'We' leave that sort of stuff to the nasty Russkies or North Koreans, don't we? (s)

Are you accusing Fraufruit of being condescending when you just wrote this? That's some world class gaslighting.

One can only wonder at the difference between this budget and the tax cutting, no spending cuts one from Liz Truss just 8 weeks ago, what a f#*kup the Tories have made of things over the last 12 years of which brexit and bojos get brexit done can most likely be considered the worst and probably  the root cause of the current woes:o

But people knew EXACTLY what they were voting for so they asked for this. It's insulting to even suggest that this is not what people wanted from Brexit.

I am going to assume you are be being cynical.:)

Seriously though, maybe:D, the plan is to turn the UK into a 3rd world country to stop immigration, which is what many people wanted when they voted for brexit well partially at least and to date the Tories are doing well with the first part but could do better on the second part!:(
