Moving back, question about anmeldung

My wife and I are moving to Offenbach soon. We used to live in Berlin in 2017, but have not been back to Germany since. As we are preparing to take on the paperwork once again we noticed that on the website for Offenbach it says that we will need to bring our previous Anmeldebestätigung. Unfortunately we have moved several times since we previously lived in Germany and can not locate our old form. Does anyone have any experience with requesting an Erweitere Meldebestätigung, or know if this is strictly necessary if we have not lived in Germany for a period of time? Berlin's website says to send in the application by mail, but I do not see an address or clear instructions on how to do this. My next step is to reach out to the Offenbach Bürgeramt to ask, but I thought I would check to see if anyone here has had a similar experience first. Thanks!

It's always nice to hear when somebody moves to Germany. 

 

I know people who have been in a Similar situation like yours. It seems it isn't a big deal. 

 

I read somewhere that they can give a fine up to 1000€ because you didn't deregister before moving out, but I have never heard of someone WHO got a fine.

Think you will have to contact the office in Berlin where you were living when you left and Abmelded from.  I did this when I needed a copy of my first Anmeldbestätigung for getting a German driving licence.
