Recommended Day-2 test for England

9 posts in this topic

I have just booked a flight to Birmnigham for mid September and am trying to book a Day-2 test as required by the British government. The list on the government website https://www.find-travel-test-provider.service.gov.uk/test-type/green lists over 400 providers. I have tried three already without any success in placing an order. The Expert Medicals recommended by a member here keeps clearing the form when I click on "Submit & Checkout" and doesn't answer its emails or instant messinging, which doesn'rt exatcly fill me with confidence.

Can someone recommend a reliable provider of Day-2 tests?

I have just tried the Boots site and they are not only requesting my passport number but are also insisting I upload a copy of my passport. Is this usual?

I booked a Day 2 test with Eurofins 54.90 GBP each, also via PO Priority Post, they were recommended in another thread the only problem was their website which at first just seemed to be offering a walk in test in Warrington, found the right thing eventually though. I'm also travelling next month so hope it works as promised.

Dantelabs has been good so far.

https://dantelabs.co.uk/

48 quid

I googled 'cheap day 2 tests' first time I looked, because then at least you get a short list someone else put together, otherwise that government list is enough to bring you to tears. It becomes clear that the cheapest offers are from companies that can't keep up with their promises.

Eurofins was one I tried but they too, like Boots, required me to photograph my passport and upload the photo. There was no way I was going to do that without good reason.

They did not ask for a passport scan or even the passport number from me when I booked!  I can't remember but maybe on the form but optional, I absolutely  would not give that out to a private company.

After wasting over four hours trying over 30 of the providers on the UK government list I finally got one to agree to supply the Day 2 test and give me the number I need for the passenger locator form. The firm is called Assured Screening https://www.assuredscreening.com/tests-for-individuals/ and the test cost £61 with PO special delivery.

Steve
Yes I've now heard others having the same problem.
I've updated my recommendation with the link you posted to Assured. Thanks for that.
