Recommendation for Paid for Covid Testing in Berlin

10 posts in this topic

Someone gave a recommendation for a company that does Covid testing, here in Berlin. Stupidly I didn't make a note of it and now searching through posts on the subject, I can't find it. I'm visiting my sons, here, and will be going back to blighty next week. I need an antigen test so I can enter the sacred portals of Bojo's empire.  Hopefully the person, who posted the link will see this and do it again. Actually any recommendations are welcome. Thanks

I can recommend this place but my mother needed a PCR test to return to Ireland during the summer and their antigen tests appear to be only for residents:

https://ctb-corona-testzentrum-berlin.de/reinickendorf/

This place does paid for antigen tests at many locations throughout Berlin for €20 which seems reasonable to me. They claim the certs are good for international travel:

https://schnelltestberlin.de/en/rapid-antigen-test/

Can't recommend them either way. Just found them through Google.

Folks,

I'm in the US and flew to Berlin a couple weeks ago.  Here's where I booked my Schnelltest in Berlin for my return flight to the US:

I signed up for the free Buergertest, which was all I needed for flying back to the US.  They emailed my results in about 15 minutes and I stopped by a copy center and printed the documents.  They also have PCR tests which are 49,90 and 69,90 Euro.

Antigen is the Schnelltest AKA Bürgertest, it is for free until October and there are test centers literally in every corner.

Thanks all, I shall have a look.

@skinnypuppy A friend of mine said that a friend of his returned to Canada and paid $250 for the test there. Is that even possible?

@Krieg I'm not a burger, anymore. Just visiting my sons then returning to Blighty.

That is indeed the going rate for a PCR test in Canada, no idea about the antigen test. I'm resident in Germany and fully-vaccinated, so didn't have to pay through my already irritated nose.

@rodisi,

I mentioned in my post above that I went to the CovidZentrum and did the free Buergertest/Schnelltest.  I am a US citizen that was visiting a family friend.  It was still free.  I used my US passport as identification as they put that information in the test results you get.  That way at the airport they can match the passport number to the test results.

As far as I know, no one controls anymore if you live here or not.

My only experience was in Frankfurt where I was asked for my ID and was told that I'd have to pay.  Whatever, it's only 19.99euro per test.  Then I have to book my Day 2 test at the rip-off joints across the pond.

Again thanks
