Breaking News: Airport Strike Friday

What level has German journalism sunk down to:

Quote

Tanja Szewczenko's dog Guido had diarrhoea in the living room. Former "Alles was zählt" actress Tanja Szewczenko was actually looking forward to a quiet evening - but her dog Guido put a spoke in her wheel. The four-legged friend did his business in the middle of the living room, as reported by "Promiflash". At the same time, the dog was struggling with diarrhoea because he had caught a sausage from the barbecue table.  The 43-year-old tells of the mishap in her Instagram story. Her daughter Jona noticed it first and alerted her, she says. "I thought I was going to freak out. It stunk... It was beyond words," Tanja recounts. The first attempts to clean up the mess failed. In the end, however, it worked. "You can't see it anymore," Tanja says, beaming with joy.

There are so many strikes at German airports: it’s difficult to keep up…cabin crew can strike….ground staff can strike….pilots can strike since there are 3 different trade unions. Then, baggage loaders can strike too or air traffic controllers who usually complain about the long waiting period for their Harley 👻.

We have a works council at the US firm I work for. Strikes are well planned for using staff on part-time work and the churn rate is hidden behind a staffing agency. The lack of a union means people are treated like light bulbs. It's a short-term gig for me I have a choice but considering less than 5% are German most of the people working there do not have a choice. Treating Unions as the problem is like frogs and the boiling pot. What would lifting 20-30 kg bags constantly all day every day do to your body? Yes, they have a choice, Do they?

So Saturday I was told I don't have a job Monday thanks for being part of the team. Guess being part of a non-union workforce helps deliver smiles to the bosses. Did they spot one of the frogs is not pulling the other frogs back into the boiling pan?
