What will you do when the corona lock down is finally lifted?

28 posts in this topic

So after you have been fully immunised and or the corona lockdown is completly lifted, the restrictions gone. What will be the first things that you do with your regained freedom?

Here are some of mine :)

  1. Go for a swim in one of the lovely outdoor pools they have here in Germany. I love the ones surrounded by woods.
  2. Go to the cinema and see a film
  3. Have a BBQ garden party
  4. Fly and visit my relatives
  5. Eat in my favourite restaurant
  6. Hug all my friends!

Go for a long cycle ride and stop at a café for cake (can probably do that now actually)

Have several friends round for dinner

Enjoy a week in Berlin

1.Fear of returning to work place, where I'm disturbed by people on telephone calls

2. Fear of eating under cooked rice during lunch from canteen

3.Fear of unknowingly eating with fingers in canteen

4.Fear of being stuck in traffic jam in front of kita

5. Fear of being in weird situation where I put on ffp2 from suspecting potential mutants  when others are maskless.

I'm going to try and work from home two or three days a week.

It will be nice to be able to go out to the usual places to eat lunch while at work (and not have to cook) but i'd miss being able to go cycling in the morning after kid has gone out to school if I had to go back full time.

@jubinjohn

you're not alone - I was chatting to a friend in the UK the other day, and she was very nervous about her upcoming trip to the office, public transport both ways. It was fine, she actually enjoyed it. I do think there is going to be widespread nervousness with it all.

I am looking forward to teaching my oldies - they are my main source of German, apart from anything else.

here's my to-do-list:

  • organize our (long overdue) house-warming party and invite ~30 people from ~12 different households
  • spend a full day at Therme Erding
  • travel to Austria over a weekend
  • go shopping downtown Munich
  • visit my friends/family in the USA
  • get slightly sauced up at our Stammkneipe
  • tell my boss that I'll work from home until I retire, maybe come to the office once a month at most - if they have a good reason (I can't think of any), and assign me a desk (I hate hot-desking)

Does an end to lockdown mean the virus has gone away then? You should see what is happening in France. See you in three weeks with new figures.

Sorry to be that party pooper but something somewhere is escaping me.

  • Am fed up with my ponytail. Will go to the hairdressers, which I have avoided for over a year now.
  • Meet up again with former school chums. Our regular meetings was cancelled over a year ago (we're all senior citizens).
  • Meet up again with former colleagues. Our regular meetings was cancelled over a year ago (we're all senior citizens).
  • Meet up again with family on my patio (grilled fish and salads = I'm pescatarian).
  • Meet up with dog owner friends and neighbours for a corona survival party.

- go to the beergarden with friends/colleagues

- visit relatives/friends abroad

- work in the office again with a proper desk and chair instead of the kitchen table

- restart my hobby of wine tastings

- organize restaurant trips again

- did I already mention the beergarden?

It means the government is OK with the number of daily deaths and the hospitals can cope with it.

Which ones did you manage to achieve?

So far I have :

  • Had a BBQ, many in fact
  • Seen my relatives :), they visited us, haven't had the time to travel, but it was great to see them again after such a long time!
  • Ate in my favourite restaurant.

Not yet achieved

  • Hoping to go to the cinema soon,(was waiting for a film I like to be released)
  • Haven't hugged all my friends, I have seen them though, strangely hugging has not really come back since the corona, anyone else noticed this?
  • Sadly was so busy no time to swim outside, hopefully next year in Summer!
