Must be pretty embarrassing for Trump supporters with each and every new revelation.

A lot of them are incapable of seeing the truth, and even less capable of being embarrassed

As I've said before, they've had the rug pulled out from under them by the people they support many times.

At this point it's like watching series 51 of Mr Bean, it's no longer funny, it's just cringe-worthy and you ask why it's still going on and why anyone would still be ding it.

Tip from a non-native speaker:   If a document uses the word "insurrection" or compares the January 6 events to September 11, 2001 or the bombing of Pearl Harbor, it's propaganda.

Hope that helps.   😇

Yeah, totally not an insurrection. Just peaceful tourists visiting the Capitol building.

Trump and the GOP spin fantasies to hide his crimes against the Constitution

Quote

It's gone beyond whitewashing history. Ex-President Donald Trump and his House Republican enablers are now spinning fantastical inversions to hide his crimes against the Constitution on January 6.

Trump insisted that the mob that marched from his rally on that fateful day to invade the US Capitol were a "very loving crowd" in excerpts from audio interviews released on CNN by two Washington Post reporters in a new book on the ex-President's last days in office.

The audio came out on the same day Trump's mouthpiece on Capitol Hill, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other Republicans spoke out against authoritarianism and abuses of power -- but they leveled those accusations at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and not the twice-impeached former President.

It was the latest incarnation of a now classic tactic among pro-Trump Republicans and his media propagandists -- an effort to not just excuse the former President's conduct but to comprehensively alter the facts and public perception of the worst attack on Congress in two centuries. The shape shifting strategy isn't just a political device -- it allows those who promote it to avoid wrestling with the reality of an assault on American democracy.

Trump came across as rambling and wallowing in his own delusions in the tapes released by Carol Leonning and Phil Rucker of their interviews with him for their newly published book "I Alone Can Fix It."

"They were ushered in by the police. The Capitol police were very friendly," Trump told the reporters, referring to the sacking of Congress and assaults on police officers by his supporters.

How about that. What kind of deranged asshole would try to lie and deny reality like that?

I have never understood why someone would read or watch CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and various other cable news media outlets.   Even my kids realize that a news source which makes its readers or viewers angry enough to elicit name calling, is simply manipulating the emotions of its viewers.

Try to visit news sources which don't make you so angry.

Hope that helps.

Somebody just gave the green light to Nordstream II and it wasn't Trump.    Keep it real.   😇

Anyone who supports the scum who attacked this man and called him racial slurs for doing his job as a cop is contemptible.

The Justice Department, in a reversal, says the Treasury Department must provide the House Ways and Means Committee former President Donald Trump’s tax returns, apparently ending a long legal showdown over the records.

In a memo dated Friday, Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel said the committee chairman “has invoked sufficient reasons for requesting the former President’s tax information” and that under federal law, “Treasury must furnish the information to the Committee.”

The 39-page memo is signed by Dawn Johnsen, installed by the Biden administration as the acting head of the legal counsel office.

During the Trump administration, then-Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he wouldn’t turn over the tax returns because he concluded they were being sought by Democrats who control the House of Representatives for partisan reasons...

Now we know who financed the Big Nothing Sandwich -

Nonprofit groups run by a crew of radical right-wing conspiracy theorists are paying millions of dollars to fund much of the sham Arizona vote audit launched by Republican state senators, according to records released following a lawsuit demanding transparency in the process.

Groups headed by former President Donald Trump’s ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn (nearly $1 million), conspiracy lawyer Sidney Powell ($550,000) and two correspondents from One American News Network ($605,000) — who gushed about the audit operation while paying for it — are among the top funders of the controversial recount by the inexperienced Cyber Ninjas company, according to the records.

The unveiling of the people bankrolling the audit appears to further undermine any remaining credibility in the operation.

The America Project ($3.2 million), run by former Overstock furniture company CEO and QAnon acolyte Patrick Byrne, also chipped in, making a total of some $5.7 million paid by Trump supporters who backed his lie that Joe Biden won the presidency only because of widespread election fraud. The Arizona Senate, which hired Cyber Ninjas, has allocated only $150,000 for the process.

The funding numbers and documents provided by Cyber Ninjas didn’t cleanly add up, reported The Arizona Republic.

Cyber Ninjas revealed funders’ identities after the Republic sued for records on the audit of 2.1 million Maricopa County votes run by CEO Doug Logan. Logan, a QAnon conspiracy theorist, was convinced before he looked at a single Arizona ballot that “hundreds of thousands” of additional votes would inevitably be found for Trump.

Among multiple questionable practices, the Ninjas have exposed ballots to infrared light in a hunt for “bamboo fibers,” which organizers claim would prove interference from China. Last month, copies of voter data were spirited out of Phoenix and taken to an isolated cabin in Montana, some 1,300 miles away

The Ninjas’ recount deadline was May 14, but a report on findings has yet to be released. Logan now plans to send out workers to knock on residents’ doors to grill them about their Nov. 3 votes.

Critics say that the operation hasn’t turned up a shred of evidence of Trump’s “big lie” of a rigged election and that the company is stalling for time and desperately grasping at anything to justify the multimillion-dollar contract.

The Arizona vote was certified more than six months ago by Republican Gov. Doug Ducey after Biden beat Trump by 10,457 votes in the state, and several recounts failed to find any irregularities.

So just sit there and unpack this for a minute -

Rudy Giuliani tells NBC New York that he is “more than willing to go to jail,” but if he does, those who put him there will “suffer the consequences in heaven.”

People who put him in jail will go to heaven.

Is there suffering in heaven?

No wonder he needed up in a car park, if he doesn't know the whole heaven and hell difference

Although I think the whole point is to make statements like this and see who nods, those are the people he and Trump etc aim for. Those people are the ones they look at, rub their hands and milk for as much cash (and during an election, votes) as they can get.
