Hello, we are considering moving to Dietzenbach and wondering if it's a good choice. If anyone has living there experience, can you pls share your experiences. How's the neighbourhood, people, what areas to avoid, schooling, safety, etc.

Thank you.

The only thing I can say about it, is that's it looks close to Frankfurt.

34k in't that small, it's not big, but it's not hickville.

I have friends there. It's got a bad reputation because it has an area of low-quality housing (ugly, big apartment buildings) with some of the lowest (if not the lowest) rents in the region, which attracts a "certain kind of demographic". I haven't been to that particular area, so I can't share any first-hand experience.

If you like suburban life, Dietzenbach is perfectly fine. It's kind of boring but a good place for families.

why not move to Offenbach? It's also much cheaper than Frankfurt. That being said I biked through Dietzenbach the other day. Parts of it are full of high rises and look a bit dirty. I actually saw one of these high rises had a big fenced-in mini garbage dump in front of it, apparently for all the bulky trash people otherwise would leave in the streets. You may be interested to know they even renamed a quarter in Dietzenbach because of some stuff that happened there and ruined its reputation.

There are, however, also very suburban parts of Dietzenbach consisting mainly of houses and town houses, it looks very nice there. And there are great bike paths around.

Its on the Sbahn to Frankfurt and Offenbach, too. If you want big city and cheap, go for Offenbach. But maybe Dietzenbach is right for you if you're looking for a more suburban lifestyle. Also, Dietzenbach has this cool lookout tower:

Dietzenbach, as with Offenbach, had a bad reputation some years ago, but that has changed today.  There is an area that used to be called Starkenburgring, I think it's called Spessartring now. This is where the high rises are that Neudarmstaedter referred to.  Those buildings should be avoided, but the rest is fine.  I have a good friend and both of her children have bought houses in Dietzenbach and are very happy there.  Honestly, there really is nothing wrong with the general area today and it has a regular S-Bahn service both to Frankfurt and Darmstadt.

Offenbach- big City? Don't they call it New Yorkbach?

I'm in Dietzenbach temporarily right now.  It's cramped but nice.  My wife went for a run and said she's impressed with place and she's German...  Anyway, this IS the center mass of speed camera traps for Germany.  There are about five, literally at least five I know of within a two minute drive.  Other than that, I can't tell you too much.

Havent heard that one, but I just meant it's basically one unit with Frankfurt. There's not much of a border, if I ride my bike down the Main 20 minutes im at the Iron Bridge.
Coming from Darmstadt previously, and before that Berlin, Offenbach reminds me a lot of Berlin-Wedding for example.

Hello Everyone,

Is any one living in Dietzenbach that can give me your point of view of this area? I would like to move to this city in houses area, close to dietzenbach mitte the houses part after the bridge. I would like to know if it is safe? I went around and it looks quite ok. I see there are new construction around beautiful ones by the way.

Thanks,
