Yep, our banned-racist-now-returned-under-a-different-name, ah, "poster" is getting desperate.

He's digging very hard for stuff to make us jump.

I would say not engaging with him is working nicely.

There will be an extinction burst of course, as in a flurry of  silly postings - the easiest solution is to continue to not waste your energy on him.

Typical neo Marxist tactic.  It was used in Yugoslavia very effectively in the early years with the help of mob intimidation, a network of spies and brute force.

Basically anybody who didn't fall in line with the party was accused of being a nationalist or fascist sympathizer and was sacked from work or school while insulted, humiliated and often physically assaulted by a select group of coworkers.  Sound familiar?  Just replace nationalist with racist and there you have it.

The fact that you subscribe to an ideology that has killed over 100 million people in the 20th century and rely on mob intimidation, fake news and giant tech monopolies to censor everything you don't like is a sign that you are on the wrong side of history.  Ain't that right Karen?

True.

Help me understand what you wanted to communicate with respect to left and right because you have not linked it to anything tangible.

You seem to be saying,no you are saying that because Jim Crow were enacted by Democrats that that cancels out the left/right wing argument.Even though the Democrats are so not left wing. They maybe Left of the Republicans but they`re not even that close to the centre from the Republicans.

There was no context,it was the type of "If you don`t like it then go back to where you came from" type of post aimed at Dessa when they happened to be talking about race and immigration.Yet you defend him and accuse us of bullying him,so unusual for you.

From a purely business perspective, the NFL and the NBA are going to self destruct by turning games into political platforms.

Yet Nascar has just had record figures despite banning the confederate flag and having declining figures since 2013.

The NFL sets record figures every year despite "those people" (as you would put it)

No idea on the NBA.

As an aside what`s your view on Trump wearing a mask because a couple of days ago you were claiming in regards to masks how useless they were and that we "were duped" ?

Does that make Trump a man with no principles who just goes after votes now then as he knows masks are useless ?

That's quite a politically incorrect statement for someone who seems to pride herself on being so liberal, progressive and anti-racism. Imagine if Trump said it!

I`ll answer as anyone else with intelligence is ignoring you (says a lot for me but hey who cares)

That`s as politically incorrect as saying that Corona is rampant in Bayern so I`ll not mix with visitors from Bayern.

Context is important.

Now if she had said I won`t go to my local chinese business (even though the owners have never set foot in China) or called it Kung Flu or Chinese Flu then that would have been wrong but she didn`t.

Nowadays yes.But do you honestly believe those tech people, media people actually care about the protests ?

They only care because it hurts their image thus income.

No I don't.  I saw this back when I was in university; the Deloitte and Accenture clowns in suits who visited campus were all alike despite how "diverse" they claimed to be.  They were expected to have the same shallow personality, use the same corporate bullshit phrases and laugh at the same cheesy jokes.  It's much the same with the media and Silicon Valley. Go where the wind blows. Shut up. Obey. Deviation from conformity will not be tolerated.

Did you honestly think it was only about tearing down Confederate statues?  Say what you willabout them but Stonewall Jackson and Robert Lee were first rate military men and sacrificed a lot more than the mindless rabble who simply want their statues gone because they read a chapter from Howard Zinn.  But as Trump predicted it didn't end with them.  Not only are they tearing down Washington and Jefferson's statues but they are going after Lincoln and Douglas as well.

This never was about justice. It's about power. Ilhan Omar was quite honest when she said she wants to tear the whole system down because she sees it as oppressive.  Her media allies were quick to use the "well those weren't her exact words" tactic but everybody knows what she meamt.  So before you jump on the revolution bandwagon ask yourself: how did it play out the last time around?  What guarantee is there that we won't have another Great Leap Forward?

It is about disempowering political rivals.   Eliminating racism is the marketing spin to convince the mindless mob to follow along.

Note that people like Justin Trudeau, Ralph Northam, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, and Jimmy Fallon have all dressed up in black face.    As long as they stay loyal to their political tribe, it is no problem.

Sometimes I ask myself are these people really that dumb? And the answer is likely yes.  Just give them porn, junk food, beer, and rage bait and they'll be completely oblivious as to what's going on.

But Fox News is the only channel telling the truth according to some people on this board.

People believe what they want to believe and sadly in many cases they believe what Facebook or their idols want them to believe.

As for 99% of businesses they go with the flow they don`t actually have any sympathy either way they just go where they will get the money.

Look at the NFL now, wanting Washington to change their name even though there have been protests about it for many years.Only now when they fear it may cost them dollars do they do anything.

How many companies are changing the names of products or their symbols, funny enough if it`s racist now then it`s always been racist.

Then maybe you should only have statues of brilliant soldiers at military academy ?

Lets face it how many Countries have statues of people who were traitors to that Country

Please stop trying to credit Trump with anything on this subject,I think most people knew that.

That`s why I said BLM as a movement is a good thing but BLM as an organisation is just another bunch of extremists although extremists that go Left and not Right.

An NFL player a couple of days ago posted some real anti semitic conspiracy articles and comments, yet only 2 players actually spoke up.Now imagine if a player had posted racist stuff how many comments he would have had against him.

If you criticise Israel then you must be an anti-semite apparently. If you criticise the Tories you must be a lefty and so on.

Too many Anti whatever organisations seem to be racist or biased against 1 thing. There doesn`t seem to be anything out there that actually wants to treat everyone no matter race, religion, sexuality etc as equal. There always has to be 1 thing they`re not happy with.

I fail to see how calling the coronavirus "Chinese flu" is any more racist than saying you don't want to touch surfaces that people from China may have touched. But you obviously like "fraufruit" (what a stupid profile name by the way) and don't like me (despite not knowing me from Adam) and so you're defending her. I've noticed though here in Germany that people who are normally extremely PC and "anti-racism" are much quicker to say something negative or dumb about Chinese people than they are about Blacks, Muslims or other non-white groups, which is interesting to say the least.

That is actually quite reasonable and is what happened to many Communist era statues; they were placed in museums.

As for your second sentence that's not entirely accurate.  The Confederacy was fighting for right of secession; its officiers resigned from the Union Army and joined the Confederacy.

When those states seceded, they pursued the precedent set by the 1787 Constitutional Convention. What happened was each state called a secession convention, elected delegates as pro Union or pro Secession and discussed whether to stay or leave.  Remember this was before the 1869 Texas vs. White ruling after the Supreme Court de facto rejected the right of secession.

Most people on here have a Weltanschauung based on where they come from originally, living in Germany and a holiday or two elsewhere. Most on here don‘t understand racism and aggression towards strangers ( whatever they look like ). Wrong pub, wrong football team mentality.

Most on here don‘t understand prejudices are worldwide. Mine, yours, everybody elses.

@Rushrush: What's happening in America at the moment is truly frightening. The hatred, anger and violence of many of the BLM protesters is astounding. Worse still, they seem to be getting away with it. Trump is absolutely right to condemn them.

Trump is absolutely right to do nothing. He is a racist, misogynistic filthy liar. What planet do you live on? He lied again today by saying Obama played more golf than him when he was President. That means nothing but if anyone believes anything he says well what a shame. Poor you. I feel sorry for people like you, I really do. Over and out.

Which political positions can be communicated before and during a game by a professional athlete?  If the person is well intentioned yet clueless, will the leagues continue to allow players to deliver a political lecture at game time?

What is your view of Mesut Ozil?

My oldest teenager's curriculum in Berlin was roughly 30% current events delivered very superficially.   Some of the teachers were literally political activists.

I have the impression that most USAmericans learn history from Hollywood movies.    Germans tend to know a bit about WWI and WWII, but don't ask about the 1920s.    The scope is very limited.

That`is kind of like if Merkel seeing the rise of the Right turned round and said she is anti immigration and we should send them all back.

We're living through scary times when someone can lose their job over something they say or write. Stories like this will make others afraid to voice their opinions, too. It looks like an attempt to silence people, which is something that cannot be tolerated in a  democracy.

Looking back a while I think we learned that there are various ways to deal with trolls and posters who are generally only here to cause trouble.

1). Out troll them.

2). ignore them.

3) Bit of both.

Worked well in the past and the big papa troll dude got so worked up he spat his dummy out as people mocked him, trolled him, ignored him and blocked him.
It was a great combined effort but the easy way is to just cut off their food, don't bother with them and if you do, just treat the conversation as a joke. Don't answer their questions, ignore what they say, loop back.

However the easy way, is just to block them. Eventually they move on somewhere else to get their much needed and desperately sought attention.
