Maybe you would be so kind as to check at their website for us as you heard the broadcast and so would know what to look for. After all, we only have your word for it.

I don‘t know which broadcast it was but I just googled A radio interview with a Congolese churchman from yesterday ( in German) about the aftermath of their independence. Basically, the structural exploitation since colonial times hasn‘t changed, unfortunately, according to the churchman.

Yes, my girlfriend´s son is classified coloured and had different admission requirements for University than blacks or whites based on that. Therefore, I know that first hand. About different requirements for pilots I was only told by an acquaintance who sold his business (airport construction) because he would have been excluded from public tenders because he´s white. It´s official policy called BEE (Black Economic Empowerment).

How can that be allowed? It's clearly discrimination. And to think that there are people who act like it is only white people who can be racist!

I think it is quite clear that the reporter didn't use the word in connection with current times. I really cannot see the DLF saying something like "die Neger im Kongo heute...". I bet it was a historical quote.

Animal Farm in Seattle

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53224445

Two teenagers shot in Seattle's Chop autonomous zone

"A teenager has been killed and another critically wounded in a shooting in Seattle's autonomous zone.

One teenager, 16, was fatally shot and died after being taken to hospital. The other victim, 14, is in intensive care.

Chief Carmen Best, from the Seattle Police Department, said they had found a white Jeep "riddled with bullet holes" near one of the concrete barriers to Chop.

The zone, initially known as Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (Chaz) and now called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (Chop), was set up amid protests over the killing of George Floyd.

As it is part of a protest against police brutality, it is self-policing.

In the first shooting, which happened in the early hours of 20 June, a 19-year-old man called Horace Lorenzo Anderson was killed and a 33-year-old man was injured.

A second shooting the next day left a 17-year-old boy injured, and another person was wounded in a third shooting two days later."

Doesn't matter whether Klu Klux Clan or Antifa, Americans like guns and violence (I exclude TT members)

Some countries that had extreme oppression had signed agreements in order to compensate some ethnic groups, in some cases those perks are even in their constitution.   Or in some cases to give something to the ethnia that had indigenous status.   For example, in Singapore, the Malays get some perks in education and some quotas in public sector jobs (but are banned from the army because their loyalty is dubious).

Those perks or special treatment had initially good intentions, like bringing uprising and equality to the former oppressed group, but in today standards they are seen as discriminatory.   But getting rid of them might be a big political hassle and might upset a bunch of people.

P.S., Aren't in the USA the native americans the ones allowed to open casinos in several states?  At least that's what I see in the movies.

BTW, shouldn't those white South Africans be eager to go back to their home countries?

Than also white  and black Americans should go back to their home countries.

I am stricktly against it since than Trump would "return" to Kallstadt, Palatina.

Some families live in SA for more than 400 years. Isn't SA their home country?

I still think it's wrong. White South Africans of today should not be punished just because their ancestors benefited from apartheid.

Apartheid ended just over 25 years ago. The vast majority of those who benefited from it are still alive.

Now do the U.S.

And black people should not continue living in poverty due to the oppression they had during the apartheid.

It is a complicated subject.  I can understand all the sides, it looks like discrimination, it is unfair to the young whites, but if you remove it it is unfair to the blacks.

If black people in South Africa are living in poverty in 2020, it's not necessarily got anything to do with apartheid. There could be other factors involved.

Ending the discrimination against Whites would not be unfair to the Blacks, unless they want to be treated like victims for the rest of their lives.

I think you have little idea about how serious (political) conflicts are solved.   It normally involves giving something to each side.   You can't then few years later complain the situation is discriminatory and the benefits from one of the two sides should be removed.  At least not without renegotiating the initial deal.

They are; it does.

Why don't you move on to the Flat Earth thread?

You and jeba pretend you don't know what is Apartheid and what happened in South Africa during that times.

Why do you think that trying to play a victim gives any bonuses in life? It doesn't.

So you think it's fair to treat all white South Africans as oppressors (even the poor ones) and all black South Africans as victims (even the well-off ones)?

And empty Latin America while we‘re at it! Just imagine all those of Spanish descent, plus Portuguese, Germans, Russians, Poles, Japanese, Brits, Irish , Italians, French, Lebanese  etc all making their way „ home.“ Not to speak of the descendants of slaves in Brazil, the Caribbean etc.

( sarcasm)
