Black BAME and POC supporters of Trump

679 posts in this topic

This has mostly been flowing beneath the surface, and generally isn't covered by the MSM but there is a small but growing (?) movement of Black, BAME and POC people coming out as supporters of Trump. Kyane West is the best known example. Anyways thanks to Piers Morgan, Candace Owens latest video has gone massively viral logging up millions of views. I watched her video (technically live stream) to sum up her main points.

The first thing is some Black people rejecting the Marxist/Lenist narrative of the left, often lumped in with "socialism" and Globalism. Populism at it's core. This view is best typified by black UK rapper Zuby, who also happens to be a Christian (which explains some of his views) If you're on twitter his feed is quite good, he's very articulate.

Here's a typical example (sorry preview not loading) loads more examples of this can be found.

Secondly, and this is the part that upsets most people, is she accuses the black community of ignoring black on black crime. Candace Owens and people on the far right really love to hammer this point home. The simple reality is black people per capita commit vastly more crimes than white people. Typically you'll see comments like 50 people got murdered in 1 weekend in one city and nobody cares. It's almost like police brutality isn't an issue. In her video below she spends a ton of time talk about how bad George Floyd was, as if he got what he deserved. Although she don't put it quite that way.

Which brings me to the 3rd point. Racism;  it seems that most of the black Trump supporters are big belivers in "pulling yourselves up by the bootstraps". But it's like they ignore the effects of racism  particularly systemic racism. I posted a great article to FB by Ben Thomspson, Dust in the LIght, if your interested.
test.

Here's the tweet that started it all (don't know why tweets aren't loading). Piers Morgan being Piers, she's stupid end of story.

Finally her 18 minute rant on FB, she is very articulate, which is probably why it got so many views

Here's an interesting article that ties in to the above

the Pogrom that nobody talks about (link be,ow)

In June, my inbox has been littered with missives from assorted Jewish organizations, institutions, and even, shamefully, synagogues, some good and some bad, wringing their hands over George Floyd's death, and timidly condemning violent responses, while failing to mention the racist attacks on Jewish businesses and institutions by supporters of the anti-Semitic Black Lives Matter group.

There are also loads of videos of Black business owners complaining how there businesses got destroyed in the riots, again this rarely makes the news.

Have just watched Candace Owen's video (also checked her Wikipedia page, as I wasn't aware of who she was). She clearly feels very strongly. I was prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt when she argued that George Floyd didn't deserve to die in the way that he did, despite being, she claims, high on drugs when he was arrested, and having a criminal record, which she details, until she said in the last minute or so "you do stupid things, you win stupid prizes".

As for non-whites supporting Trump, I think they have just as much right as whites to do that - and to have opinions with which many might disagree or even consider stupid.

@Lorelei Candace Owens works for a well-funded propaganda outlet.  Whether she truly feels strongly about the things she is paid to say is something only she knows.

@Space Cowboy Interesting. Who does she work for? Can't see her current employer on her Wikipedia page.

She works for One America News Network, which is even more biased than Fox News, if you can imagine that..

Like Diamond and Silk, she gets paid a lot of money to play the token black person.

The KKK has been trying to pit Jews against blacks for decades, with little success.

Good of you to further their arguments, especially with Netanyahu toadies like him.

Anti semitism among blacks is quite well known So there is nothing new there, to say only whites can be racist is silliness. Remember anyone can be a publisher and every publisher will produce both great and Some downright crappy stuff. The NY Times Is well known for its bad. Coverage of Israel (I'll let ypu do the search for that.  I don't really trust these fact checking sites (Snops aside) as most are very liberal leaning and of course anything Conservative is looked on suspiciously.

Yeah that doesn't surprise me much of her arguments sound very familiar to what I read on right wing blogs/twitter. Also it's because Black people are 95% Dems the 5% really stand out. As mentioned elsewhere the problem is that people demand totalitarian-like devotion to their ideology and if you’re indifferent, apathetic you get tossed aside.

Hmm, not sure about that.  She has appeared on OANN many times, but I’m pretty sure her regular paying gig is with PragerU.

That's possible. I only know about her involvement with OANN. I'm sure there's a lot of overlap between the two.

Don't really know why it should be that surprising that Trump has non-white supporters. He'd have many more if the dodgy narrative of him (and the Republican Party) in general being racist was not pushed on people for the past few decades.

Racism is accepted by all races as long as it is their type of racism.

Racism is the belief that people of a certain race are inferior.(I believe that is the technical meaning)

However Racism seems to be a much dirtier word than xenophobia,anti-semitism,homophobia,transphobia or any of those other words that define the hatred of someone because of who or what they are.

However in the real world they are no different. What is the difference between hating someone because they`re black and hating someone because they`re gay ?

Yup no difference.

The common denominator is all these phobias concentrate on hating someone because of how they were born.

It doesn`t matter which of these phobias you have it is no different from the other ones, they`re all bad.

I`ve never noticed anti-semitism being prevalent among the blacks I knew (West Indians rather than African Americans, not sure if there is a cultural difference on this subject),however homophobia did seem to be particularly prevalent.

I`ve known Pakistanis that hate Indians and vice versa and then there`s the Indian Caste system.

I`ve known white who hate people because of their skin colour, their sexuality and various other things.

Growing up I was always taught by my parents to look at people as individuals not as part of a group. There are arsehole Jews, arsehole POC,arsehole gays etc etc,it doesn`t matter what you are in regards to colour etc,all that matters is who you are.

I don't know how widespread it is, but over the years I've read articles over tensions between the black communities and Jewish ones. It also could tensions not related to race as well. As someone pointed out you need to take the article with a bit of a grain of salt.

I am not a fan of Candace Owens, but i watched part of that video.

After watching that video, i did indeed google  "George Floyd aggravated pregnant gun".    I have the impression that at least a few of the hundreds of thousands of people who are outraged, might not have done basic research on the situation.

There is going to be a massive backlash.

But the policeman did not know this when he was kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes.  This is ridiculous.
