Coin counting machine locations?

13 posts in this topic

Hi Everyone,

Do any bank branches still have coin counting machines? This was asked a while ago, and apparently some Sparkasse and Commerzbank branches had them, but that was quite a while ago.

I know that some supermarkets have them, but they charge 10%, which I'm not willing to pay.

Please, if you know of a machine, give me the specific branch location.

Thanks!

Do you have lots of coins and do you need the money urgently?  I found the best way to get rid of coins is to use the self-serve checkouts and pay with lots of coins. I also used to go into my small Edeka when it was quiet where I knew the boss never provided the staff with change and they gladly took my coins in exchange for bills. However, due to corona I don't think that'll work at the moment.

My local (non Berlin) Commerzbank has ATM machines that accept coin.

This report says all Commerzbank ATM also have coin acceptance.

That doesn't  help you unless you've a Commerzbank account.

I haven't seen a coin counter in a bank for a while now.

Another option could be to buy a manual one on Amazon.

In case anyone comes across this thread: Commerzbank in Alexanderplatz has three machines. I was able to deposit my 11kg (1300 EUR) of coins in just a few minutes. It's free, but of course you have to be an account holder.

There are also two machines that take coins in the lobby of the branch on Wilmersdorfer Strasse (corner of Bismarckstrasse).

Where are you getting so many coins from? Just pay by card and this extra hassle is eliminated.

Truly Toytown at its best.

Member #2: Pay by card. Money is so last century.

Member #3: What is money? (Yes, this actually happened.)

I agree. Why do people find it necessary to reply with everything except the requested information? What is the use?
