Well, provided you have a normal work contract as an employee they have to by law. Plus in case you´re sick they have to continue paying your salary for up to 6 weeks (after that your health insurance will pay). My guess is that if you´re unable to work because of an abortion that counts as sickness.

I don’t want to stop working, I just want to end this pregnancy. The only problem have is money and I obviously don’t want the family I work for to find out. Thanks to everyone who helped!

If she has a contract as an au pair, they can give her 2 weeks notice at any time afaik.
