why do you care what other people are doing?

you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

I dont know if its the question of I care or just the curiosity of what other think or so?!

Wont change what I will end up doing 😂

I’m supposed to go on vacation tomorrow and completely understand the curiosity about asking what other people are doing in this situation. I’m trying to figure out what the most responsible thing is to do, but I don’t know the answer to that.

I just got home last night but am booked to fly to the U.S. in May. I'm taking the wait and see approach.

ETA - I'm hibernating for a while to make sure I didn't pick up anything.

Well, if you travel though a busy place like an airport, it's a bit more likely to catch the virus there than if you stay home and if you catch it, you could spread it around more.  If you are planning on visiting friends or family, you probably don't want to infect them.

I discussed with my friends in China what we do.  They still want me to visit but as the airlines aren't flying, we'll try to get a refund and then see if it looks better in April / May.

No question for me- health takes precedence, along with  worry about being a carrier.

I see  Canada has also had positive tests on arrivals from US. We still do not know enough.

This is my main concern. Unknowingly being a carrier.
The other concern is about not being able to get back home (if they start cancelling flights).

I am hoping to fly in May, but, like ff, will wait and see.  And check out "Cancel for any reason" Insurance!

Same boat here, wife is supposed to go to Cancer Reha and both agree the last thing we want to be is stuck in a small room for days on end, I would climb the walls so leaning seriously towards moving it back.

And than there is the best headline I've ever seen

Meet the Insane People Still Planning Cruise Ship Vacations

Quote

Indeed, while some shudder at the prospect of enduring severe flu-like symptoms and a 14-day quarantine, others see the vacation deal of a lifetime materializing before their eyes.

You have opinions on everything but rarely answer the question. Your question is exactly you. Unreal.

Germany is going to be soon blacklisted by many countries, so even if you manage to fly you would end up in forced quarantine in your destination.   Some South American countries already announced those measures for flights coming from China, Italy, France, Iran and Spain.   Even Hungary announced a ban from travelers from Italy and some other countries, they will take only their own citizens.

Here's hoping. I booked (before Xmas) 7 days in Egypt from the 22nd this month and would be more than happy to see it get cancelled so I can get the money back.

I read on the news about tourists visiting Vietnam.  They were asked to go for a "health check" after having been in an area where there was a case and they ended up being quarantined in a military hospital with bars on the windows.  They were not impressed with the cleanliness, number of working toilets, lack of toilet paper as well as the food which was rice with soya sauce 3 times a day.
