Why? As long as anything sold in Germany is taxed by Germany there is no market distortion. There would be if cheaper (sincefactory-farmed ) meat could be sold without being taxed. THAT would be unfair.

Well well well, maybe before taxing the general population for animal cruelty, they should start by reversing that ruling, no? AFAIK, the animal can't choose his religion.

Tax all cosmetics, soap, shampoo, perfume, medicine, various food, paint, chemicals, and anything else which is tested on animals as well.   

 

In my opinion, the emphasis on Halal and Kosher butchers, which have small impacts, smacks of xenophobia.

Ok, then let Portuguese run bullfights in Germany. That is what you are saying?
