Can they not just have a battle somewhere in the North and both brothers die? And all of them except Princess Anne who I reckon would be a great queen. He has made it known that he has more ammunition. Prince Harry: ‘There’s enough for another book – I cut memoir in half to spare my family’ Quote The Duke of Sussex has revealed that he has enough material to write another book, having held back disclosures for which the King and the Prince of Wales would not “ever forgive” him if they were made public. In an interview with Bryony Gordon of The Telegraph, Prince Harry said the original transcript for his book, Spare, was twice the length of the final draft. He admitted a lot of the detail that was eventually edited out concerned interactions with both his father and his brother. The revelation is likely to leave the Royal family deeply concerned about future disclosures, with Buckingham Palace sources noting that he might be forced to write further books for financial gain. ... Prince Harry said: “The first draft was different. It was 800 pages, and now it’s down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.” He added: “There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.” He admitted he had struggled at times to determine what to include and what to leave out following 50 Zoom calls with his ghostwriter, aware that, within his family, writing a book was “an absolute no”. Prince Harry – who has accused Palace staff of lying to protect his brother Prince William – claimed that the media had “a s--- tonne of dirt about my family, I know they have, and they sweep it under the carpet for juicy stories about someone else”. He said he knew he was “going to get trashed” for anything he included about his family, but insisted that it was impossible to tell his story without their inclusion. The Duke also revealed that he felt “responsibility” to reform the monarchy for the sake of Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four. “I know that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare,” he said. “And that hurts, it worries me.” He admitted that the notion frustrated Prince William, adding: “He has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility.” Regardless, he said he liked to “fix” things and was approaching his mission with “long-term, strategic thinking”. “This is not about trying to collapse the monarchy – this is about trying to save them from themselves,” he claimed. “I know that I will get crucified by numerous people saying that.” ... Posted 14 January Ugh. I have four siblings. If we were each to write a book the family would be unrecognisably different in the four versions. We experience and remember things so differently. Good and bad. This is becoming clear with our own 4 children as they grow up. The same experience is remembered by one as creative and exciting and by another as tedious and unfair etc. depending on so many factors. To make all of this so public is utterly cringeworthy. The monarchy does need to be radically changed, and that is what Charles is doing - only the central line will be working Royals, any more is unaffordable and unnecessary. It was made clear to Harry that this was the case and by marrying someone with a job and career of their own, it could have been a smooth transition. The Danes have slimmed down as well. This is modern life. Sure it's crap for number two if they wanted to be number 1, but it is what it is.

I can always remember myself (6) and my brother (8) getting matching pairs of boxing gloves for Xmas. Maybe my parents, back then, where ahead of the curve re 'brotherly love'.

Posted 10 March Visited my local bookshop today. Spotted a big pile of copies of "Reserve" out of reach on the top shelf, looks like it is not selling well. Does the wholesaler take them back for credit? What happens to the unsold books, might they be pulped, or offered cheap (€1?). .. As for celebrities, I prefer Boris Becker ("I like tennis because the enemy is twenty meters away"), fortunately he did not take up wrestling😉

I believe in Europe the publishers take them back or at least they used to so you rarely saw premium books on sale and in the UK I believe books were/are still legally subject to retail price specified by the publisher. Very different I think in the USA where bookshops would for example put a hardback title on sale as soon as its paperback was published. I have seen hardbacks on sale there at less than the price of the paperback, nice.
