Absolutely not true ! From the german federal statistic office more than 50% of immigrants are unemployed .Google it

I am quite skeptical of that number, but I will do further research as time allows. Also, does that figure you are presumably quoting from somewhere include those of us who are retired, thus technically unemployed, but paying our way?  If so, depending on our numbers, it’s skewing things.

The unemployment rate of foreigners in Germany is 12.3% (in 2019):

Unemployment rate is including only those who are availabe for the labour market. Many foreigners and even more refugees aren´t though. Therefore, this isn´t a good criterion to assess the burden of refugees on the social affairs budgets. It seems difficult to assess the total cost of refugees. However according to this the cost of care for refugees on the federal level is about 4.4 % of the total budget. And the majority of costs are born by the states.

Does that count those of us who are retired, thus unemployed, but paying our way?

Retirees don´t count towards the unemployments statistics. Neither do those who are sick, too young, don´t have work permits ...

I think one needs to differentiate between the terms migrant, immigrant and refugee to find the correct statistics of who does and doesn't work.

I loathe the term "yacht" which Germans tend to use for any boat over 12 ft. long.B)

My apologies, ma'am.

How does one more properly refer to the floating pleasure palace in which you convey yourself atop the foaming waves?

Been living here unemployed for 30+ years now. U.S. passport. Which category would I fall under?

Ahhh.  Fraufruit - you are making me feel better 😂.  I didn't respond to some *%$# on another thread who had the gall to criticize me for actually saving enough money (along with my German DH) to support myself/ourselves in retirement prior to me anticipating collecting my hard earned US Social Security in another 6 years.  We fall in the "organized life in another way" category.

Floating pleasure palace - funniest description ever of the very old girl.:D

Love that name!  Alma is a city in Kansas too, population 2000.  They took my Dad in after Hurricane Katrina and helped him get back on his feet.  Finer folks I've never met.

They do call "see" to a lake, so their maritime size proportions seem to be generically wrong. :D
