Posted 30 November What are these little plastic balls in Guinness cans good for? Can they be a problem for recycling the aluminum? I´m donating the empty cans to an animal charity and want them to not have problems.
Posted 30 November They're widgets to add gas afaik to the beer as the can is opened. Guinness uses nitrogen rather than carbon dioxide to give its fizz, hence smaller bubbles and the delicious thick creamy head. If in Germany you have a can you have paid a 25 cent deposit on it, I'd guess that's more than the value of the aluminium.

Posted 2 December Though difference between "recyclable" and "will be extracted and recycled". But the widget will not cause a problem in the alumunium recycling process.

Posted 3 December They're also in the cans of Boddingtons (Manchester beers) that I still crave. On my Christmas list, again
