Nomination for post/topic of the year 2019

39 posts in this topic

@Kommentarlos: your thread origins from SmurfLee. IMO, poster of the year, but my thread of the year is another from SmurfLee, namely: https://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/topic/384755-difference-when-you-dress-up-and-down/?page=1

It was not an easy choice since she started so many topics, but it received many views and replies hence my nomination.

It starts with:

"I can feel significant differences.

In winter, I always feel very cold, wear thick winter coat all time even inside of buildings. People treat me with indifference.

In summer, I can wear lovely summer clothes, and I always buy quite a bit of different summer clothes. Since I wear small size, I think it makes me look cute in small summer clothes. I feel people, especially men, treat me very differently. If I ask something, they show much attention and care to answer me and help me. When they talk with me, they show full attention and look at me while talking with me."

Absolutely poster of the year. :D

Also an excellent choice.  Some of the answers here from other posters very endearing. Definitely worth another read.

It makes me a little sad that all the nominations so far are for prime examples of idiocy. I don't know if it's a sign of the times in general or just a snapshot of Toytown right now.

These are all great threads where the synergies between the posters are more than just the original contribution.

Do you have a different sort of nomination?

Perhaps your take is a snapshot of whom you are right now?

Oh, Jeffo! Do not despond. There was probably a great thread from a Harvard Professor asking about a cheap Philippine  maid. Use the search function!

👍🏼

Yes, optimista! As far as I can remember - it means „ to lose heart, give up. „.

Something like that!

With only a little over a month left in the year, let's get started.  My favorite thread of the year happens coincidentally ;) to be current, but feel free to add all of your favorite yuks, pwns, and verbal doodoo of this year to the thread.

Here we go: like gravity, a causal truth, a force of nature

Which post or must I read the whole thread?

fraufruit:I guess - based on your double posting - the thread of the year has something to do with Editor Bob´s latest TT revamp!

I think it is the whole thread looking at the title.

A post for brilliance:

I would like to nominate Panda's post where she announced the opening her  tax accountant practice!

Changed my future, I am sure.

well, at the time of posting, the thread only had 10-12 responses total, it was more how it had unfolded up until that point.  Totally clueless self-proclaimed "genius" maintains that he can stomp anyone on Toytown into the ground with his superior brane skillz but lacks even the most basic google-fu.  I find the OP to be both charming and sassy and also completely on another planet;  I can imagine a beer with this person would prove fascinating.

Fascinating as in "how does this person manage to drink without drowning" fascinating?

ha, fascinating as in, I find everyone who doesn't conform to what we expect out of "normal" human behavior to be interesting to some degree.  I love picking the brains of other weirdos, as long as they're more or less benign.
