You mentioned he was a real estate lawyer so I`m taking it for granted he wasn`t building to give away to the homeless.

Posted 20 Feb 2020 22 hours ago, Keleth said: No but it certainly gives you the right to protest against it ffs. I grew up on various RAF bases around the world so I`m used to noise. However between 2015-2017 they built 3 or4 hochhauses a couple of hundred metres from us.Everyday for 3 years 7am starts the noise until early evening. It drives you fucking nuts there is absolutely no peace and every day you find yourself waiting for them to make mittags and feierabend. You get home at 11 or 12 from lates knowing that next morning after 7am you have no chance of sleeping and don`t even mention sleeping when you have night shift. So please stop making out that the disturbance to people is nothing because it`s not. So you are saying that we should shut down any economic activity that makes noise. No, wait. Any economic activity that has the POTENTIAL to make noise? Are you Amish?

(Yes noise pollution is a part of environmental impact) Everything has its own merits. But you certainly shouldn`t shut down peoples rights to protest against it either.

The plant hasn't been built yet. The environmental impact has been looked at 20 years ago when the land was zoned industrial and was decided by duly elected officials as acceptable. Protest all you want. However, you should be aware of what you are protesting. Even the Greens have stated that this is a stupid protest (see below). However, they have shut down the building site. If they shut it down until March, then they have shut it down for half a year at least. There is a good chance that Tesla will not want to wait that long and go somewhere else (actually, I hope they do) That is a bit more than just protesting. They have given Germany a black eye for international investment because Tesla had the audacity to want to build a plant in an industrial zone. Tesla has bent over backwards to offer to reforest an area three times the size and made many other concessions. Quote "You don't always have to be against everything. How absurd to declare a pine tree plantation a forest. We shouldn't get carried away but make Tesla's investment in the future possible." Quote To make a pine tree plantation a battlefield is absurd. It has nothing to do with conservation. and those are just the Greens! Turns out even the members of the Grünen Liga are pissed off and want to get rid of their leaders. It seems that the whole thing comes down to just a few cranky people.

"You" is meant in the generally accepted alternative to "One" As in "One may protest all one wants but one should understand what one is protesting against." Happy? You must be a blast at parties.

If you haven't noticed they seem to have quite a bit of money. Germany, Brandenburg, and Grünheide all have potentially much more to lose than Tesla does.

The only thing that the Grünen Liga accomplished is that politicians will now be looking at how to restrict such trivial law suits in the future.

It`s just that the big name ones get the publicity. Every time you build something it is going to interfere with someones life in some way. You just need to weigh up the pros and cons.
