Even after all these years, I still...

Initially this was to be entitled  "Even after all these years here, I still...", but in the spirit of inclusivity, I've left it open ended.

I'll start.

Even after all these years, I still take an extra second to figure out "neunundvierzig" is "forty-nine".

No trolling please.

even after all these years...

I still forget to initialize my pointers.

it's completely ridiculous and sometimes embarrassing.

Even after all these years, I still can´t open a tin of Fray Bentos corned beef using that stupid key...

it's a programming thing - leads to crashing behavior in the worst case :)

I know better, but I still do it over and over again.  my coworkers tease me about it endlessly as it's just that dumb, and that common (for me)

I feel better now, lisa! I thought it was only me that didn´t know what you meant!

PS: I don´t know why the script has changed whilst writing now. I don´t think I touched any strange button on the keyboard! After all these years, I SHOULD know why!

Been here in Munich 15 years, first few with DT, then KD which is now Vodafone...in all that time I've had maybe 2 days total downtime.

Even after all these years in Bavaria, I still have problems with people drinking beer in the morning.

Even after all these years in Berlin, I can't get used to people breathing down my neck in the grocery store line.  I am like, so fast, organized and prepared with loading, paying and unloading, and not laggy or standy-in-the-way-y or anything.  Yet somebody always has to stand directly in my hip pocket while I type in my PIN.  Where I'm from, you don't want anyone to get the idea you're trying to see what's in their wallet.  Even after all these years, I still want to elbow people in the nose that are standing so close to me they can see exactly everything in my wallet when I take it out to pay.  Never get used to it.

Libby was my salty treat in a tin. Winding the ribbon of tin round the key was half the fun!

Thanks John!

The person in front of me, when entering a building,

doesn't look behind themselves and keep the door from crashing

back into my face.

Still annoys me.

Still gets me:

The locals who can't handle a knife and fork properly.

I am no longer annoyed by this.

It just irks me somewhat.

Woe betide if any of my kids tries to start behaving that way

Blowing smoke in my face when I try to enter a station, building or bus stop still makes me think bad things about manners here.

I'd have to say solving the Goldbach conjecture has eluded me.  (wink wink)

and still haven't found my true passion.. I love many things but have yet to find that one thing that I was born for.
