back in India I always had buffalo milk for consumption and it was pretty great. but I however miss it here in Germany. So, I was wonderring where can one buy good quality Buffalo milk in Saarland area? Alternatively, are there also some possibilities to buy it online? For me the quality of the milk is much much important than where I buy it. pleeeeeeeease help

I've never, ever seen in Germany. You can usually find goats and ewe's milk (the Turkish supermarkets are a good place to look for those) but I've never seen buffalo milk.

Is there an Indian grocery store near you? You could ask there.

I would guess that UHT buffalo milk, which is probably the only possibility here, would be both expensive and disappointing compared to fresh.

You can't.

Try Amazon, etc. You mean of course water buffalo, which are more common in southern Europe (since Roman times, e.g. mozzarella). I've seen/tried a water buffalo feta-type cheese (Bulgarian, I believe) in Turkish shops before. Actual milk, especially fresh/pastuerized is all but impossible. If you were to find the rare farmer who has a few water buffalo, you might convince him/her to give you some milk, but EU regulations frown on this sort of thing.

Yes, I wanna buy at least the UHT milk although fresh (unpasteurized) milk is waaaay too better. But sadly it seems impossible..

I have checked there but there's none atm. I see only books about water buffalo milk. what on earth will I do with those? :(

I'm pretty sure that there are water buffaloes in Germany. It's just a matter of finding them. For e.g. I have seen some of them grazing in the fields when I was traveling to Stuttgart a couple of months ago. Although I do not know whether there are any buffalo farms in Saarland. Pleeeaaase do reply here if you guys know. I'd be very much grateful :)

I'm asking about buffalo milk (A2) because of its health benefits when compared to the cow's milk (A1) found here in Germany. A2 milk is much more health-friendly when compared to the A1 milk. Some studies have shown that consuming A1 milk is not good for health in the long-term.

A2 milk which comes from goats, buffaloes, and Bos Indicus breeds are generally better for health because of the absence of β-casein proteins.

Bos taurus breeds (the European ones) yield only A1 milk which has β-casein proteins. These proteins in general has may side-effects and are not good for health.

Among many other studies comparing A1 vs A2 milk, here is one study : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4818854/

Yes, but extremely few. Here is a map showing most of the breeders (those who have joined together to form an association):

With Google, I can find farms that offer buffalo milk right away:

https://www.pielers.de/de/kaese-milch/milchspezialitaeten/bueffelmilch

https://hofammeer.de/index.php/shop/bueffelmilchprodukte/wasserbueffel-milch.html

http://www.bobalis.de/de/Kaese/Bueffelmilch

Another tip: Use google.de and German terms if you are looking for something special.

@someonesdaughter    vielen lieben dank!! 4 years of searching has yielded some fruit.

I couldn't see the map (which shows the Buffalo breeders) however. Could you please provide me a link? I'd love to visit some of the farms later.

Another kind request: Please do update the post with more links if you could find other sellers.

Interestingly, all these providers charge the same price (€3.90 per liter). Perhaps this is because they agreed on this specific price at the association level!!

Id just like to add that this isnt quite true.  The research shows that some people who are lactose intollerant may have a worse reaction to caesin, but in general as long as the person in question has no problems with dairy, caesin is not an unhealthy choice.  FWIW its also often taken as a dietary suppliment in the form of protein powder, typically sold as for use before bed.
