Recommended Reasonable Tax Advice for Brit in Munich Area

4 posts in this topic

Hi I am a Brit moving to Germany but will remain working for a British Company in London (and occasionally remotely)

Can anyone recommend a reasonably price knowledgeable Tax Advisor in the Munich Area ?? - I will be living with my partner in Munich - any help greatly appreciated. I have been led to believe it is essential I sort this prior to applying for residency.

Please help !!

Aye, you will need to pay tax where you live, not where the company you work for is based.

Complicated indeed for you, but sorry I don't know a tax advisor in the city who can help you.

Good luck.

PS. don't forget things like German-authorised health insurance, it isn't free or even cheap.

thanks Malt Teaser perhaps you may have some thought on this as it health related...

so if I earn only EUR 43,000 I HAVE to go with the state Insurance ?

I ask as I am a Brit moving to Germany at the age of 55 and the cost of the state to the private is leaning me to private ?

Also if I have any existing European Private Health Insurance cannot I just continue with that ??

Maybe someone like @johng will come along soon and help you with some advice, he is a specialist after all as you must have German (Bafin?) approved health insurance.

You also need to sort out your tax here, this is where you'll live so where you need to pay tax.

Brexit may cause more difficulties, but as yet nobody knows.
