Peanut butter shortage - help!

There is another thread on TT about Trump.    This is a thread about the peanut butter shortage in Germany.

Of course m'lady.  I only wanted to expose Trump as the evil-doer that he is, among other dastardly deeds that he engages in on a daily basis.  My apologies for interrupting your thread.  BTW, one of my first posts on TT had to do with peanut butter!

our local Penny has been out of PB for weeks, but the Netto ("orange Netto", not "Hunde Netto") nearby still has it.  I don't know if Netto has a different supplier or if Netto customers don't eat as much PB.

our local Penny no longer carries PB.  it literally filled the shelf space with more Nutella.  Nutella next to Nutella.  No PB.

on the plus side, it does still carry maple syrup.  it's not from Vermont though, only Canada stuff.

Canadian is good. Can you really tell the difference?-_-

I wondered why my local Netto had changed supplier - from one in the US to one in the Netherlands. The only problem is that the new one (in a glass rather than a plastic jar) tastes absolutely revolting, maybe because it has palm oil in it. I got through a quarter of the jar before flinging it into the bin. I went to Edeka, but they were sold out. I tried 'Erdnusmus' from DM - revolting slop.

I shall have to try harder to track something down.

I agree with Nina.  I've had Netherlands-sourced "Erdnusscreme", in a glass jar, from both Kaufland and Lidl, and neither were as good as Penny's Mike Mitchel's peanut butter was.  :-(

This is the best we have in the Netherlands. Apparently, Edeka sells it:

Excuse you?!
They do?

Since when?

I still have this stuff shipped in.

Definitely no shortage of peanut butter in the Netherlands. Everything you see is peanut butter in different varieties and sizes:

OMG! Seriously?? Of course! (as a real Vermonter, we can always taste the difference between Pure Vermont Maple Syrup and that imposter stuff north of the border...)

Be very careful! That is so anti Canadian- I might have to report you to the  Nova Scotia Cod patrol;)

I just ordered too much (on purpose) Calvé Pindakaas from Amazon.de.  If anyone wants to share the peanut butter as well as the cost, send me a message.  4.55€ per 350g jar.

I brought some back to Munich in spring after a trip to the Netherlands.  This stuff is the crack of peanut butter.

Up north (Schleswig-Holstein)  our Edika has a tasty crunchy one in glass.

The local Organic supermarket has large jars of organic / bio american PB as well

as the dutch stuff.

No shortages noted yet...

As it should. American maple syrup?! Don't you guys just add colouring and artificial flavour to HFCS? A nation that would do that and call it maple syrup (or 'pancake syrup' or whatever) has IMHO, relinquished any claims to be a reputable purveyor  of pancake toppings. Tabarnak!

This is only one of the reasons why I love the Netherlands. I do miss some of my 'back home' brands, but Calvé is good stuff. I also love their thick satay sauce base, the kind that's at the bottom of your pic in the green or orange jars.

Peanut Butter is back!!!!

I walked into Aldi yesterday and was amazed to find peanut butter in the shelves again! No more yucky phooey weird tasting substitutes  - regular old american peanut butter :-)

Happy days are here again and the first jar is already gone :-0
