Free public transport for kids in Berlin

7 posts in this topic

We don't have kids, but I'm all in favour of this. Now if they would only raise the pay of those working in Kitas...

BTW: If your child already has a Schülerticket (in card form), then nothing changes. They'll simply stop deducting the monthly fees as of August.

Maybe a bit late, but I was on holidays.   There is more good news for parents with small kids in Berlin, from now on the lunch is for free for all kids in all primary schools, just like the BVG tickets, the city of Berlin will pay for the lunches as well.

P.S., If you still did not receive the BVG school ticket for your kids, no problem, until November, everything your kid will need is just a valid school ID to ride in the public transportion system.
