EU licensed tourist guide card

3 posts in this topic

Hello everyone, I will try to explain my question. I come from Greece and am doing my Master's in History in Berlin. In Greece now it's very difficult to get the tourist guide license, so I thought maybe I can get it here while I am doing my Master's. As far as I checked in the Greek ministry, you can work with foreign license if it's recognised by EU. What is the process in Germany? Where shall I adress? And will German be necessary (mine is not so high, at least for now). Any help/suggestion is welcome !

Have you - as 2B already advised you in January - contacted the IHK in Berlin?

As far as I know, there are no national regulations for the training of tour guides, but a multitude of training courses from different providers, e.g. http://www.berlin-guide.org/Schulung.html or http://www.deutschertourismusverband.de/klassifizierung/qualitaetsinitiativen/dienstleistungszertifizierung/qualifizierung-fuer-gaestefuehrer-nach-europaeischem-standard.html or https://www.bvgd.org/qualifizierung/ausbildungsmodell-zertifizierung/
