Private insurance situation when temporarily working on reduced work contract

I have been working  in a small IT company in Munich since the past 1.5 years and during this time I am privately insured with Hanse Merkur.

I would like to reduce my working contract to 80% for two months due to personal reasons and go back to the 100% contract after two months.

My company agreed to this change. However, I am not sure how to handle the health insurance in this case.

Shifting to an 80% contract makes my income lower than the legal threshold for private insurance.

 

Is there something I can negotiate with my current insurance provider or is the only solution going into public health insurance for two months?
