Being the outsider in a village

You took over an apparently much loved / needed village pub which was probably central to community life and you intended to turn it into an English tea room?

Well, it's not like she opened an English tea room and nobody showed, it's more like she ended up having to live in the bar for a while because the house was in such crappy shape and then again the bar wasn't really in shape either.

 

A friend of mine bought a house in a village where there's an English tea room and it's actually quite popular.
