Strictly Stand Up English comedy in Berlin 19+20.Feb.2019

1 post in this topic

Quatsch Comedy Club will be doubling their English shows this year. The first shows of the year will be Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, starting at 8 p.m. both evenings.

From their website:

Double the pleasure – double the fun! By popular demand, our Strictly Stand Up shows will be held two nights each – Tuesdays and Wednesdays – so you’ll no longer have an excuse to miss Berlin’s best English comedy shows, even if you have to work out at the gym (or wash your hair) religiously every Wednesday!

Look forward to these fabulous comedians:

Omid Singh (USA)
Born to an Iranian mother and Indian father, Omid Singh is one of the top multicultural comics working today. After learning his comedic craft at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City, he is now based in L.A., where he is a regular participant at the Comedy Store’s Roast Battle show, among other gigs. “Brilliantly funny, skirting the edge of acceptability” (Edinburgh Festival)

Sean Collins (CAN)
Sean is a comedy veteran with nearly three decades of experience under his belt, including nominations as “Best Male Stand Up” at the Canadian Comedy Awards and his own hour-long TV special. Originally from Canada, he’s now based in the UK, where he made his Edinburgh debut in 2015. We’re thrilled to have him at Quatsch for the first time. “A pleasure to indulge” (The Scotsman)

Mike Gunn (UK)
Mike’s history is as interesting and entertaining as his comedy. A self-confessed pessimist, he has a rare ability to tread the line of what audiences find acceptable and yet still remain likable and funny. He headlines at all the top comedy venues in the UK and has worked all over the world. “One of the 10 leading stand-ups in Britain” (Independent on Sunday).

Spotlight Berlin: Liliana Velásquez (COL)
Sensual, provocative and damn funny, Liliana Velásquez is a veteran of the English-speaking standup community in Berlin. An American artist with Colombian roots, she has so many outrageous stories to tell, it would horrify her proud parents. “Real, raw, and often raunchy” (The Leipzig Glocal)

As always, your host is the lovely and talented Christian Schulte-Loh, that rarest of all creatures, a funny German comedian.

The Quatsch Comedy Club is a great, intimate comedy venue, with just 300 seats, in the basement of the Friedrichstadtpalast on Friedrichstraße 107.

Tickets start at €19 plus service charges, or free of service charges at the box office on the evening of the show (subject to availability).

There are free baby margaritas in the lobby before the show and happy hour afterwards, when you'll have the chance to chat with the comics, if you're so inclined. Come out and support English comedy in Berlin!
