Why are some duvet so cheap on Otto?

I like cotton fillings, and some are so cheap on Otto?

Do I must buy expensive ones to be safe from any harmful chemicals etc.? I only want to use it 1 year or 2 years at most.

Depends:

Quality and softness of cotton

Pure cotton, or mixture of cotton and synthetic

Washing- will it wash well

Where it is made.

It says 100% cotton:

https://www.otto.de/p/bettwaesche-janina-home-affaire-collection-im-patchwork-design-539729505/#variationId=685685158

  • Mit Wendekissenbezug
  • Trocknergeeignetes Material
  • Unterstützt Cotton made in Africa
  • Mit Reißverschluss ausgestattet
  • Aus 100% Baumwolle gefertigt

But may be the cotton does not have good quality. It does not tell where it is made, only where the cotton is from.

What I am worrying is if there any bad chemicals in the product to be cheap?

I need only 0.5-1 year or even less. So I want to buy something cheap, but do not want to get sick.

@ Smurflee - this is not a duvet, but a duvet cover set - Bettwäsche, as opposed to Decke.

Still, it looks nice and sounds like it would be lovely to sleep in, although I would put it through the washing machine first!

The duvets are here:

https://www.otto.de/suche/bett%20decke/?kategorie=bettdecken

Thanks robinson. I cancelled the order.

I checked duvets on Otto, all says it will be delivered middle of Jan. Too late for me.

(1) My current duvet has some yellowish discoloration along neck touching place. I think my lotion diffused in that. Can I wash this in washing machine?

(2) Any other website to order duvet?

Have you read the washing instructions on your current duvet?

Thousands of websites sell duvets, but my first go-to would be Amazon.

Before you replied, I found a duvet on Galeria Kaufhof online store.

I saw the exactly same product in the local store, but it is the last one they have, and is on display. So I didn't buy it.

If I order from Galeria Kaufhof online store, would they send me the one on the display in the local store, because it is so close from where I live?

That would be most unlikely simply because the postage costs are the same whether they send it to you from Saxony or Bavaria - ordered online it would come from their central warehouse, wherever that is.

Thanks for your reply.

I am thinking about these 3. Should I buy Duo to use it in winter? I would like to use all year around or Fall winter spring.

I tend to feel cold very easily.

I am totally confused here..

In your first post you say you want to use it for 1-2 yrs..

Then you say 0.5- 1 yr..

Then you say you want to use it all year round..

Then mid Jan is too late...

Why dont you just go the the shop and buy one?? Lets face it, thats what shops are for!

Actually washed 2 (somewhat tired) feather pillows according to  the instructions still just visible on them.

They both exploded and left me with a feather filled washing machine, drum, filters etc.

Took several hours of rewashing, rinsing, wiping down to get the machine back to normal.

Just saying !

I cannot predict things so accurately. I am planning to buy an apartment, and I do not know how long it could take to find something I like. I would like to use the duvet only while I am in rental apartment.

I went to Galeria Kaufhof, but the one I like has only one item left and on display.

He's looking for a 100% cotton duvet, which will definitely be washable, so I kind of assume that he already has one...
