getting rid of washing machine

2 posts in this topic

Since the current washing machine we have hasn't been reliably working, we plan on getting a new one from our local Media Markt (Berlin Neukölln).

It looks like they will deliver it too, which is great (we don't have a car), but what do we do with our old one? We just want to get rid of it... any ideas? Can we offer the guys who deliver our new one like 20 or 30 Euro or something to take the old one with them and dispose of it somehow?

Thanks in advance!!

Suppliers of retail electrical goods are obligated to facilitate the ecological disposal of goods they supply. This applies to all levels of the supply chain in all EU countries.

If Media Markt are charging for delivery of a WaMa to you that charge should include the installation, the removal of all packing material and the removal of a WaMa which is being replaced.

Do be sure to verify the conditions with your supplier though as they may refuse to remove machines which are still installed, not drained, excessively dirty or which their attending personell deem to be inacessible for them or their equipment.

PS: If you are in Berlin Neukölln please go to your TT profile settings and update your location. This is important since, sometimes critical, information TTer provide in response is usually based upon the enquirers' location and yours shows Hamburg.
