Granddaughter coming to live, study and work in Munich

3 posts in this topic

Looking for help and advice.

My granddaughter is coming to Munich to continue her German language studies and to work. She is 23 years old and has a degree in Phycology from the Brunel University in London.

I will be supporting her until such time as she is earning. She will be living with us.

She has registered at the local anmeldeamt.

From reading the various topics here it seems that Health Insurance is the major hurdle. She has a NHS EHIC card but I believe that is intended for tourist travel.

Advice, comments, ideas welcome.

Hi zauberer,

Check out a company called MAWISTA. They have an Expat Premium plan (I believe it costs €129 per month) and it meets all the KVR's requirements for health insurance in order to secure most residence permits here.
