This workshop is an introduction into contemporary dance. Whether you have little or no prior knowledge of contemporary dance, I invite you into a space in which together we can discover the possibilities within our bodies. Through imagery rich guided improvisation, we embark on a journey to open and to challenge our bodies and our minds.

Dance has and will always be a shared experience. In this workshop we will cultivate a nurturing and supportive space in which we feel safe to be free and completely ourselves. I invite you to come on a physical journey with me in which we let go of inhibition and bring to life the joy of dance.

As this workshop is an introduction into contemporary dance, it will have a little bit of everything! Beginning with a guided, gaga
inspired improvisation to warm up, the class will then take us through some fundamental contemporary dance movements which we will then integrate into a short movement sequence to finish.

No prior knowledge of contemporary dance needed.
Bring clothes to move in and a water bottle.
Let's get ready to feel alive!

Ayesha Katz is a contemporary dancer and dance maker from Perth in Australia. After graduating from her tertiary dance training in 2015, Ayesha moved to Germany to continue her passion for dancing and performing. Having grown up so closely aligned with the contemporary dance practice, naturally her presence as a teacher, a creator and artistic voice blossomed concurrently. Throughout her many years of practice, Ayesha has developed her own style of movement which stems from Gaga and Release techniques. It is through these techniques that she shares the art of contemporary dance in this workshop with you today.
