Pediatrician - Norderstedt

4 posts in this topic

hallo all,

my kid is having fever since 2 days. I want to take him to a pediatrician. can I take him as a walk-in or a appointment is required (which will take along time). I have health insurance. I called askleipos but they said something in german but from my broken german i could interpet that they don't give appointments only emergency.

anyone on board please please advise.

Do i have only notruff as the option with me or do pediatricians entertain when the child is having a fever if i go as walk in.

My nearest pediatrician is Dr. med. Moritz A. von Bredow, Am Tarpenufer 8, 22848 Norderstedt.

They will open Monday 9 AM but its no point go with my sick kid if they won't entertain me without an appointment.

EDIT  Just seen you are in Norderstedt so this not much help.

Link to Kinderarzt Notdienst, Notfallpraxen that are open today in Hamburg:  I would ring first, though the one here where I live you just turn up and queue.

If you wait until tommorw ring the doctor first thing when they open.  They normally give you a slot quickly.  You need to sort out a regular Kinderarzt for you child too.

Normally they will take you in the regular sprechstunde i.e.  without appointment. I couldn't find a website for the doctor you mentioned, so i couldn't look it up.

Another option is the kassenaerztlicher Notdienst which is the after hours service of GPs for stuff that is urgent but not wire an emergency.

http://www.kvsh.de/index.php?StoryID=64 here you can also find a list of kinderaerztliche anlaufpraxen.

You could also call the hospital and ask.  If you think it is urgent you can also go there today,  you might have to wait a long time,  but they will see you eventually- the treat patients according to urgency.

Just be aware that a lot of practises might be closed tomorrow because Tuesday is a public holiday
