Youth Hurling Weekend - beginners welcome! 24/25 March, ages 5-18

We welcome all Berliners and Gaelic Games Europe GAA clubs to our 'Berlin Youth Hurling Weekend'. Entrance is open to all 8 - 18 yrs old to begin (or improve!) their hurling skills with engaging coaching sessions and competitive tournament experience. There will also be a special group organized for all Under 8 yr old players, for both days. Our VIP guest coach is Mr Frank Devereux, a Games Promotion Officer for Leinster G.A.A. & Official Wexford GAA and coach with Ferns GAA (Wexford), who is flying into Berlin for the weekend's GAA fun.

With assistance from Setanta volunteers, Frank and the Setanta coaching officers aim to deliver an enjoyable experience for all our young friends during Saturday. On Saturday evening after the coaching session, there'll be a disco to relax and chat with new friends while sharing some pizza. Sunday will see a full competitive schedule for all age groups, under supervision of coaches and GAA qualified referees and umpires, ending with prizes and certificates before our group photos and goodbyes.

If I didn't know better, from the title of this thread it sounds like the kids will be thrown around! :)

I wish there had been something like this around when I was a kid - it sounds like great fun!

Or throwing up. :D

My late Irish friend, Nuala, and her son were very involved in this in Munich. It was a very nice community for them.

If you like we can arrange for you and your kids to be thrown around. Or just come down and enjoy the day anyway :)

That sounds great, and thanks for the offer, but I am based at the other end of the country!

Still, I hope the kids have as much fun as I think they will! :D
