WGs in Frankfurt

3 posts in this topic

I have an interview coming up for a job in Frankfurt and am already looking into the accommodation situation in this city. I am 50 years old and would like to know if looking for a room in a shared flat is a realistic option? I speak German and have looked at some advertisements for WGs but see that most specify a maximum age of 35 years.

It can be daunting as I too, at the age of 46, searched for a WG in Ffm.  But I did find one.  Most WGs are open to students and loads seem to only want women.  I fully understand the thinking behind it.  Sad, but true.

I looked at WG-gesucht and found one:  https://www.wg-gesucht.de/wg-zimmer-in-Frankfurt-am-Main-Raunheim-7-Min--zum-Flughafen.1945938.html

They are available, you just need to be patient in your search and flexible.  I was near the far north side and it was a wee commute, but soon enough I found a flat of my own.

Good luck!

Thanks. If I stay longer term in Frankfurt I would look at getting my own place but a shared place would suit me to start off.
