Disposing of Old electronics/electrical items

Does anyone know a clever way to get electronic waste to the FES depo?

It only opens during working hours and is relatively far from my work so not too easy.

Anyone go there regularly and would be willing to bring an extra bag or two? I know it’s a long shot?

Hello sos-the-rope. A very straight forward process...you ring them on the free number, be prepared to tell them exactly what you wish to have collected, give them your telephone number and where you live on your street and they will pick it up from outside your door for free depending on how much you have.  I think 10m3 is for free. The most important is an accurate description of the items as you could be charged extra if over limit or someone else adds items. You can also make an appointment for a special day and time where they can come into the home as they can offer the added service of physically carrying it from your home they will charge for that extra but very practical if you are under time constraints to get rid of it.

That's definitely for electronics (i.e. generally small items) not for bulky items (Sperrmüll)?

You can also simply take it to Saturn or Mediamarkt or any other electronics shop. They are obliged to accept your electronic waste.

It's a new law since 2015. Small equipment like a toaster, ironer, etc. can be handed in without buying a new item. If you hand in a washing machine, you are supposed to buy a new one otherwise it's not free of charge.

Hello sos-the-rope. They pick up from experience, TVs, computer, laptop, phones, fridges, anything that takes a plug. If you are only talking one or two items would suggest go directly to FES or Saturn link http://www.saturn.de/de/shop/allgemein-altgeraeteentsorgung.html. Are any of these electrical items working? as there is a post on here with suggestions for donating.
