Empty-nesters looking to host exchange students

6 posts in this topic

HI there ,

we ( couple 61/51)are looking for an Au Pair from UK / US / Aus/NZ  from April onwards .

As our babies flew the nest a couple of years ago , the house is quite empty :-(

If you are already in Germany and not happy with your family , just let us know .

Seems you are not in need of an Au Pair, but rather a housekeeper.  Au Pairs specifically assist in the care of children and are treated similar to a big sister or brother.

As your children are grown and gone, seems you are searching for something different.

Agreed with BayrischDude, au pairs are generally there to watch over small children. Why don't you consider taking in exchange students?

You are right , guys .

Au pair is the wrong expression . We had exchange Students from Aus and the US when our children were 15 and 18 years old . Had a great time with them .

We do not consider them as "housekeepers" .  . but as family members .

Then exchange student is the correct term.   I would just contact an exchange organization.  They are always looking for families:
