The problem is that Russia is quite crap at most things, they are very far behind in Technolgy, When Russia had the piplines build, they used the money from Gas sales from us, to pay us to build the pipeline and pumps and everything else, Of course the west may not want to take so much Russian Gas in the future, as we have seen it not good to be so dependent on one suppler. I do not know much about it, but I heard on TV that its only 60 meters down, from my diving experience, it should be easy to get to, and I guess repair as well. After all BP fixed the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico several years ago, I think that was 4500m down. 6 hours ago, jeba said: The fact that inflation is already going down much stronger than y-o-y comparisons make it seem. We´ve seen peak inflation. Financial markets are already anticipating 2% within 5 years as indicated by the yields of inflation-linked bonds (at min 28 in German: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGjBfvEdY-g). Therefore, the FED will raise interest rates rise only one more time. I find it quite strange you keep talking about the massive damage done to the German economy because they cannot not get cheap Gas from Russia over in the Ukraine thread But here, you do not think its going to make any difference and the markets will always go up. Companies including BASF have shut parts of production down, I see on TV many other companies have such problems. Because Germany was so dependent on Cheap Russia Gas I expect Germany, to be hit hard, and go into a longer than normal recession. Lets see want Olf does with this 200 Billion support package does and what what it actual means on the ground. Having said that Germany has one of the lowest GDP to dedp figures of any major economy, so should be best placed to ride it out. The PIGS are in a very different position Back to 2% in 5 years, that does not tell me things are going to get much better by early next year, I cannot see much good news out there, I will invest my money when I think things are starting to look up, I just do not see that at the moment However I think inflation will fall next year, maybe as low as 4 or 5 %, this is due to the way inflation is calculated, the recent hikes of inflation will drop out of the equation after about a year because of the calculation method, but do not be fouled by that, things are significantly more expensive now than they were 2 years a go, and do not think prices will fall. The stock market has already priced in to the market an expected 5 or 6 % interest rate. At the moment I am more likely to sell some stuff ( its a very difficult decision for me ) and maybe get 4 % in a targesgeld account ( in the futre, not now), rather than put money in to a falling stock market. I would love it if someone can give some positive news about the markets in the couple of moneths, maybe years

I've given up on the German economy and am not holding a single German stock anymore. Obviously, I was talking about the US markets, as was Dr. Becker in the video I linked to.

Posted 11 Nov 2022 Bought some NVidia a couple of weeks ago for 129€. Doing pretty well so far and lots of potential to grow. AMD undercut NVidia in terms of price, but it's not competing with NVidia on the high end, and AFAIK NVidia sold out their brand new, super expensive GPU.
Posted 11 Nov 2022 Needed to raise a little cash today while the market was up. Talked to my broker. Putting the money in a savings account they offer that earns 3.5% interest. Will have my other income directed there. Nice surprise. No fees or anything for certain account holders. He didn't believe me when I told him there is such a thing as negative interest over here.
Posted 12 Nov 2022 Unbelievable: Quote pranksters were able to easily make an official-looking Twitter account—with a blue checkmark for the fake user name “EliLillyandCo”—by paying $8 monthly for Twitter Blue. The new subscription service, introduced under Musk, comes with a blue check that previously signified that accounts were legitimate. Hours after the fake post, Eli Lilly’s stock fell sharply. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/no-insulin-not-free-eli-221824378.html Maybe Elon should have thought a bit harder before firing so many Twitter employees. Eli Lilly was the only call option in my portfolio and yesterday it dropped by 15%.
Posted 12 Nov 2022 Maybe all blue tick users should just stop using Twitter and find other ways to communicate with people and perhaps all those sponsoring Twitter should take a long look at the perceived benefits? The world wouldn't stop turning and Musk has already said Twitter might go bust...

I find it disturbing that people like you and others would wish the worst on a company that essentially does no harm to you. Did you wish the same on VW, BMW and Deutsche Bank for their very real fraud? Did you wish them to go under or is fraud ok with you but when a 144 character version of TT is bought by someone with his own money, you wish that everyone who works there should lose their jobs?

Many people find it disturbing that Musk is allowing all the hate speech and Q nutters who were banned to be back on Twitter spreading their vile. This is not about Tesla. The only way to show one's disapproval is to stop using it. Period.

It’s in every employee’s self interest to discourage other CEO’s of harboring similar thoughts; i.e. I now have an objective reason to want to see Twitter - and Musk fail. And yeah, my motivation buy a Tesla as opposed to a VW ID4 or Hyundai has dropped significantly in the last couple months along with my respect for the guy.
Posted 18 Dec 2022 Musk has gone permanently rogue and I think he is having a full blown narcissistic temper tantrum and driving Twitter into the ground, possibly even intentionally. It’s a shame cuz I personally know many people using the platform to share ℹ️ and learn all kinds of good stuff from each other. Musk is not affecting them, and if/when Twitter dies, a new platform will come along to replace it, and eventually it’ll be replaced I would assume. The nature of human beings is that the bunch is unfortunately spoiled by a few bad apples.
Posted 18 Dec 2022 I've read that many former Twitter users have migrated to Mastadon. There are already other options out there.
Posted 18 Dec 2022 If I were a major share holder in Tesla, I would want Musk to be kicked out. Musk is supposed to run the company for the benefit of its share holders, thats his primary role. In the last couple of months how has he done anything to increase share price ? Sure he has every right to buy twitter, but spending large amounts of time at twitter is not doing any good for the problems he has at Tesla. His general attitude ( which we can all see now ), is not a good one in the public light. He needs to leave Tesla and then he can play around with Twitter all he likes, even though a lot of problems that twitter will not be solved by kicking people out and asking the other to work long days while reducing standards at Twitter.

Millions get fired/layed off/let go every year with less or no notice and with less severance. Twitter's bloated staff knew their time was coming with or without Musk. At least he made no bones about it and was transparent and clear. 11 hours ago, fraufruit said: Many people find it disturbing that Musk is allowing all the hate speech and Q nutters who were banned to be back on Twitter spreading their vile. How would you know that unless you are on Twitter too? It has its Terms Of Service which does not include everyone must have an account and read the app everyday. I don't and I don't. I don't like many of the comments on TT. Using the above "logic" it should be shut down. There's been hate speech and are nutters here too.
Posted 19 Dec 2022 Elon Musk polls his followers: 'Should I step down as head of Twitter?' https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-polls-followers-should-i-step-down-as-head-of-twitter-2022-12 How many CEOs where you work would do the same?
Posted 19 Dec 2022 It seems that the journalists who were recently kicked off of Twitter have been reinstated. The backlash was palpable when they were censored. Looks like someone listened.
