Strictly Stand Up English comedy in Berlin 15.Nov.2017

3 posts in this topic

Quatsch Comedy Club has put together their usual stellar lineup for the last Strictly Stand Up show of 2017. From their website:

Quote

Mike Wilmot (CAD)
Mike is a legend. One of the finest club comedians in the world, also a regular on TV (e.g. “Live at the Apollo”) he’s finally gracing our stage! What is his comedy like? We’ll let The Sunday Times do the talking: “A stand-up whose close-to-the-bone repertoire leaves the audience in a state of hilarity that most comedians can only dream of”.

Marlon Davis (UK)
Extremely Likeable, charming and most importantly very funny – that’s Marlon Davis in a nutshell. “He bursts on to the stage like a breath of fresh air” (Chortle). Marlon’s act is inspired by his upbringing, exploring urban Britain tackling its social issues with skilful characterisations.
Oh, and have we mentioned that he’s extremely likeable? And very funny?

Rory O’Hanlon (IRE)
With his observational comedy style and extremely high gag rate he took our gig by storm in 2015. Now he finally returns.
Rory is a Comedy Store regular and a headline act on the European comedy circuit. His comedy is very international and “hugely enjoyable” (Three Weeks). We’re thrilled to have him back!

Spotlight Berlin: Caroline Clifford (UK)

Originally from London, Caroline has been one of the main faces on the English comedy scene in Berlin for several years now. Her style is darkly surreal, personal, nerdy and silly. Apart from making us laugh with her comedy, Caroline also runs and organises several gigs and comedy websites and is making the Berlin scene a better place. She returns to our show two years after her Quatsch debut.

As always, your host is the lovely (and very tall) Christian Schulte-Loh.

The Quatsch Comedy Club is a great, intimate comedy venue, with just 300 seats, in the basement of the Friedrichstadtpalast on Friedrichstraße 107. Help them sell out so they will continue to bring top-notch international comedy to Berlin.

Tickets start at €19 plus service charges, or free of service charges at the box office on the evening of the show (subject to availability). Free baby margaritas for everyone before the show!

Thanks to your heads up a group of us attended the show last month and enjoyed it so much we're going to this show as well. If they keep up the standard maybe it will be a regular fixture. The host is a hoot!

Yeah, Christian is a great host. He really knows how to work a room.

I'm told there are still tickets available for Wednesday's show, so if you're looking for something to take your mind off the dreary weather, go out and see the show. And if you don't have to be at work too early on Thursday, stick around for the post-show happy hour, where you can chat with the comics, take selfies, drink more, and have a blast.

Hope to see you there, john_b!
