Actually, once they get rid of Trump's lousy choice for head of education and all of her lame nonworking policies, education should improve all around.

There are several people on board who still believe that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election even though there was not sufficient evidence uncovered by Robert Mueller III to make that charge.    There are a couple hundred pages of this thread littered with their conspiracy nonsense.

Not all of them need professional help, but a few could certainly benefit.    I feel sorry for the people they live with.

Just a little fact-checking-

Quote

TRUMP, on the stock market: "One of the reasons it's up 300 points today is that people got to see the transcript or the version of the phone call with the president of the Ukraine." — remarks Friday to reporters.

THE FACTS: No. The market did not rise Friday because investors suddenly saw a rough transcript of the call between Trump and Zelenskiy. That transcript was publicly released on Sept. 25.

TRUMP: "It was just announced, as I was getting off the plane, that the S&P has hit an all-time high -- the highest in the history of our country. And that's not for rich people; that's for everybody." — remarks Oct. 28 to police chiefs.

THE FACTS: Actually, stock market gains disproportionately benefit the wealthy.

The problem with the president claiming the stock market has helped "everybody" is that the richest 10% of the country controls 84% of stock market value, according to a Federal Reserve survey.

Because they hold more stocks, wealthier Americans have inherently benefited more from the 20% gain in the Standard & Poor's index of 500 stocks so far this year. Only about half of U.S. families even hold stocks, so plenty of people are getting little to no benefit from the stock market gains.

Trump often portrays policies that have comparatively favored the wealthy as helping everyone equally if not better.

For example, the president promised in 2017 that his tax cuts would be a "middle-class miracle." But much of the magic went to millionaires.

People earning more than $1 million received a combined total tax cut last year of $36 billion, or $64,428 per filer, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. Those earning between $50,000 to $75,000 — a solidly middle-class income — got back a combined $22.4 billion, or $819 per filer.

Sure, he just had enough evidence for obstruction of Justice, but as you know, impeachment is a political thing, not a legal thing.

And nevermind the fact that there is no legal definition for "collusion" under federal law. Mueller stated this very plainly in the report.

In addition, he stated "If we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that. We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime... A president cannot be charged with a federal crime while he is in office. That is unconstitutional. Even if the charge is kept under seal and hidden from public view – that too is prohibited."[

Sometimes I think balti is really not very bright, or just willfully ignorant. Both?

If there was evidence that Trump was working with the Russian government, he could have been impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.

But the Democrat controlled  House did not try.

There was no collusion (to use a term which is not legally defined, but widely understood).

It is a conspiracy fantasy which didn't pan out.

The 2020 election is going to be a landslide unless the stock market crashes.

From Wiki-

Quote

Project Veritas is an American right-wing activist group.[1][2][3][4] The group uses "disguises and hidden cameras to uncover supposed liberal bias and corruption."[1] The group is known for producing deceptively edited videos about media organizations and left-leaning groups.[5][2][6][7][8][9][10] In a 2018 book on propaganda and disinformation in U.S. politics, three Harvard University scholars refer to Project Veritas as a "right-wing disinformation outfit."
