Yeah, look, Trumpies, some people are not willing to go to jail for your boy. He ain't got it like that.

Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, broke sharply from President Donald Trump on Thursday, telling House impeachment investigators that he opposed the president’s request to run Ukraine policy through his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

“We were also disappointed by the president’s direction that we involve Mr. Giuliani,” Sondland told congressional investigators, according to his opening statement, which was obtained by POLITICO.

So who exactly will profit?

There are at least 1,000 beautiful locations in the U.S. that aren't far from airports and could host this event. It'll be hot as hell in June in Florida.

The next G7 summit will be held at Donald Trump's own Doral resort in Florida despite concerns over conflicts of interest, the White House has announced.

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney announced the decision on Thursday during a press briefing at the White House while defending the move and anticipating criticism about hosting the major summit at the president’s private business property. He said the meeting would take place from 10-12 June.

Mr Mulvaney said he was “sceptical” about hosting the event at the Doral property and that he “gets the criticism” surrounding the move.

Still, he said “the president has been very clear that he does not profit” by hosting world leaders and other political events at his properties.

The acting chief of staff also suggested Mr Trump was the one to suggest his Doral property to members of a team who were seeking out potential venues to host the summit across the country...

White House acknowledged Thursday that it held up military aid

Quote

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House acknowledged Thursday that it held up military aid to Ukraine as President Donald Trump pushed the country’s new leader to investigate the Democratic National Committee in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, a central question in the House impeachment inquiry .

,,,

Rep. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the Intelligence Committee leading the impeachment probe told reporters: “I think Mr. Mulvaney’s acknowledgment means that things have gone from very, very bad to much, much worse.”

Seriously?  After all the other lies, we're supposed to swallow this, too?  Trump needs to put a condom over his mouth whenever he speaks officially, to protect the voting public.

Theory: Trump knows his disastrous trade policies cost him the farm belt and the rust belt. His lies and adultery may cost him SOME of the religious vote. Maybe he thinks he'll get trounced in the election and would rather have impeachment meanies to blame.

Not a political remark, but after planting season was delayed by flooding in the Spring, the farm belt in the US was hit by snowstorms last week which damaged or destroyed a lot of crops.   Parts of North Dakota received a meter of snow and had drifts of nearly two meters.

A significant amount of China's hogs have been infected with a virus and needed to be destroyed.

Interesting times.

Even if the resort takes a total loss, the optics would be  pretty third-worldish.  It is an attempt to build the brand.

But maybe Trump is just trolling.

Mulvaney admitted to the Ukraine quid pro quo on camera and then announced that the G7 is going to be the biggest Trump grift yet, but alt-bicus keeps ranting about pigs.

I think we might have found TT's own Very Stable Genius.

How's that fizzle going for you, Loretta? You pay Alex her money yet?

He could pay for the wall himself for what he spends on lawyers -

Lawyers for U.S. President Donald Trump and his re-election campaign have threatened in a letter to sue CNN for what they said was the network falsely advertising itself as a news organization, calling on executives to first discuss an "appropriate resolution" to the matter that would include a "substantial" payment to cover damages.

The letter, dated Oct. 16 and made public on Friday, is the latest threat by Trump to sue a media organization over what he sees as unfair media coverage since launching his 2016 presidential campaign, although no lawsuits have been filed.

“This is nothing more than a desperate PR stunt and doesn't merit a response,” a CNN spokesman said in an email.

Rebecca Tushnet, a professor of false advertising law at Harvard Law School, said there was "no merit" to the letter's legal arguments and that she doubted a lawsuit would ever be filed.

The letter was signed by Charles Harder, who has sent similar threats to media organizations on Trump's behalf....
