Trump's Presidency: Is this the next domino to fall?

People don't give a shit about Syria or Kurds. Assad, Iran and Russia have been slaughtering for years: no flying fucks given.

Trump wrote a letter in non diplomatic language (unfortunately a bluff): so called liberals (they do not stand for liberty any more) on fire.

Fuck this humanity, fuck these democrats: you deserve 2nd term of Trump. You did everything for him to stay. Literally everything.

Calm down, yourkeau. The Democrats have only been able to do anything about Trump's wanton lawbreaking since they regained control of the House in January of this year. They've been pursuing him and his toadies more or less relentlessly ever since then, but there's only so much they can do with Moscow Mitch stonewalling everything in the Senate.

The Ukraine thing is different though - no matter how much certain alt-members of this site would have you believe it's going to fizzle out Any. Day. Now.: Trump withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid to a country fighting a war with Russia, unless they promised to give him fake dirt on Biden. That kind of blackmail and betrayal is easy enough for anyone to understand, unless they make a conscious effort to disbelieve.

Uhm, yeah, @yourkeau, you are willfully ignoring the reality of the situation. The Democrats could not do anything until they regained control of the House. Also, it is just factually correct to say that you cannot impeach a president for things he did before he was president. Pelosi literally had to wait until Trump committed an impeachable offense while in office. We can go back and nail him for his FEC violations later. This is proceeding exactly as it should.

"Turkish president Erdogan 'threw Trump's Syria letter in bin' "

Quote

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan put US President Donald Trump's letter "in the bin", the BBC has been told.

In the letter dated 9 October, and sent after US troops were pulled out of Syria, Mr Trump told Mr Erdogan: "Don't be a tough guy. Don't be a fool!"

Turkish presidential sources told the BBC that the letter was "thoroughly rejected" by Mr Erdogan.

Trump ambushes grieving parents -

Quote

You can almost imagine the reality-show excitement that surely went into the ill-considered plan to introduce Anne Sacoolas, the American diplomatic wife who killed 19-year-old motorcyclist Harry Dunn when she drove down the wrong side of an English lane in August, to Dunn’s grieving parents. Sacoolas left the U.K. in early September under diplomatic-immunity protections and has not been seen in public since.

The Dunn family, now in the United States to drum up support to send Sacoolas back to the U.K. to face justice, had accepted an “urgent” invitation by the White House from National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien, to visit Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night.

President Trump said Wednesday that he had arranged the meeting at the request of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Speaking at a joint press conference with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, he described the encounter as “beautiful in a certain way,” adding that he expressed condolences “on behalf of our country. ”

He then admitted that he tried to get the family to meet Sacoolas, who was waiting in an adjacent room. “I offered to bring the person in question in,” he said. “And they weren’t ready for it.”

Trump, it seems, thought he could convince the Dunns to meet the woman who killed their son, and would do so by opening a side door through which she would walk. The whole scene would be captured by a pool of photographers who had been summoned for the meeting, a family spokesman charged.

But the Dunns would have none of it and refused to meet her. Dunn family spokesman Radd Seiger said that the family felt “ambushed” when the “bombshell” was dropped that Sacoolas was next door.

They had envisioned meeting her one day, but as Seiger told The Daily Beast, “only on British soil” and “only with mediators, counselors, and their legal team in tow.”

Nah, I refuse to believe it. There is no way an adult human being could pen such a text. No way. A 10 year old would get a "must try harder" for that.

Sorry, but it's real. At least as real as anything in this Bizarro timeline.

You must have missed the memo, silty1 - the Feckless First Daughter has hereby proclaimed that it is now the "Noble Peace Prize" - you know, to set it apart from all those bog-standard peace prizes.

I saw that the other day, but didn't post it as it was so awful and I thought it must be a hoax.

Primary school assignment:

Imagine you’re the leader of the  most powerful country in the world.

Write a letter to another world leader asking them not to invade another country, even though you previously told them they could.

Remember to use persuasive and diplomatic language!

Then again, he just said this;

President @realDonaldTrump just wrapped up a joint press conference with President Mattarella of Italy.

“The United States and Italy are bound together by a shared cultural and political heritage dating back thousands of years to Ancient Rome."

Oops! Somebody forgot about the nukes -

Quote

An estimated 50 US nuclear bombs are effectively being held hostage in Turkey as Washington attempts to find a diplomatic way of responding to the country’s invasion of Syria, officials are reported to have warned.

The withdrawal of American troops from northern Syria – creating a power vacuum that has allowed Turkey and Russia to move into the region and displace Washington’s Kurdish allies – has caused international outcry.

And as even his supporters accuse the White House of betraying its allies, Donald Trump has been forced to escalate his opposition to Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, threatening to “destroy” his counterpart's economy and contract America’s alliance with Ankara.

However, the rapid pace of withdrawal and the tumultuous decline of relations between the two countries has left administration officials scrambling to find a plan for the nuclear weapons stored under American control at the shared Incirlik Air Base in south east Turkey, reports said.

Officials from the State Department and Energy Department, which manages Washington's nuclear arsenal, met at the weekend to consider how they might retrieve an estimated fifty tactical nuclear weapons held at the site, according to The New York Times.

One official told the paper the bombs were now effectively Mr Erdogan’s hostages. It is feared that removing the weapons could signal the end of relations between the Nato allies, while leaving them in place could put the weapons of mass destruction at risk.

omg she is giving him the eyebrows!

I am often disappointed when female leaders have to resort to "mom tactics", but when dealing with a toddler, I have to admit it's appropriate, and no one does mom tactics better than Nancy
