Ms. Hill quoted Mr. Bolton as saying... lol Man, if the War Walrus says that about anybody - especially bargain basement Nosferatu here - that's saying a lot.
Posted 15 Oct 2019 Doesn't look as if anyone in this cartoon is willing to take responsibilty except for Erdogan, who stares at us bold-faced as he readies for action.
Posted 15 Oct 2019 Quote Donald Trump's impeachment blockade has collapsed. The president's former top Russia adviser, Fiona Hill — the first White House official to cooperate in Democrats' investigation of the Ukraine scandal — has detailed for lawmakers a trail of alleged corruption that extends from Kiev to the West Wing. In dramatic testimony on Monday, she roped in some of Trump's top advisers as witnesses to the unfolding controversy. And on Tuesday, a senior State Department official, George Kent, appeared on Capitol Hill to testify about his knowledge of the episode despite an attempt by Trump administration lawyers to block him, according to a source working on the impeachment inquiry. The House Intelligence Committee issued a subpoena for his testimony Tuesday morning, and Kent, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, complied. It's the latest evidence that the White House’s stonewalling against congressional requests for documents and testimony is crumbling — and Democrats are feeling a new sense of momentum... more of the story here
Posted 15 Oct 2019 It's all getting very exciting, but I have that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach that DEM impeachment watchers may find themselves in the same pickle as the civilians who went out to watch the first land battle of the US Civil War. These are still just skirmishes, and the Senate may put an early end to impeachment proceedings by sitting on their asses and refusing to act. Washingtonians took picnics instead of popcorn and beer to watch the First Battle of Bull Run.

Posted 15 Oct 2019 I don't like Trump but he sure has some good Teflon coating. I don't think they will manage to impeach him and he might even win the next election. His fans are loyal and the other side has too many candidates to agree. But hey, at least his max is two terms :)

Conservative whacko court appointments will also last for decades.

When will the House vote on it? The narrative is flimsier than the Russian collusion tale. This was over before it started. Does it bother "progressives" to cozy up to the intel services, the neocons, and flat out war mongering hawks like Bolton? At some point, they might want to let policy positions drive their efforts.

There is no equivocation in the words of the Constitution of the United States: Quote The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment So, as you see, there is no constitutionally prescribed way that has to happen. Thanks for the intellectually bereft and factually incorrect Republican talking point. You're wrong. Trump's wrong. McCarthy's wrong. Move on. Please try to know these things before you parrot an easily countered talking point.
Posted 16 Oct 2019 That's all he's got because the Republicans are totally fucked, Alex. In addition to delivering Trump's extortion demands to the Ukraine, Colludy Rudy has been busted laundering Russian money and funneling it to Republican candidates. And that's not even mentioning the total clusterfuck in Syria, where Trump totally blindsided military leadership with his flipping over and showing his belly to his buddy Erdogan. Since this reality looks so bad for them, they're gonna fall back on their favorite strategy and create their own. So stay tuned for more alt-facts and alt-reality from alt-bicus, who will continue to insist that everything was Biden's and Obama's fault and that Trump is just the kind of guy America needs to clean out that pesky deep state (read: law and order). And the usual conspiracy theories from j², of course. When all you got is weak sauce, all your arguments are gonna be weak.
Posted 16 Oct 2019 More Trump inspiration - Quote An unidentified passenger wearing a T-shirt indicating that journalists should be lynched was allowed to fly cross-country on a United Airlines flight despite a complaint from a fellow traveler who considered the message a death threat. The male passenger’s shirt read: “Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required.” The incident occurred at the same time as a pro-Donald Trump conference at the president’s Doral golf resort in Florida that included an incendiary fictional video attacking journalists. It graphically depicted a fake “president” stabbing and shooting members of the media and political opponents in a bloody rampage in the “Church of Fake News.”... here

That's almost as tasteless as a Kathy Griffin stunt. Awful.
Posted 16 Oct 2019 Oh yeah, it seems there is now published proof of Trump either lying on his tax returns or committing financial fraud in his bank disclosure statements. Or probably a lot of both. Just like Cohen testified in the spring.
