Mini drones on Lufthansa flights

6 posts in this topic

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are laws against taking a toy drone on flights in Germany, namely on Lufthansa flights?

@apophis I've a DJI Phantom which definitely isn't a toy and I've flown Munich to Ireland (Aer Lingus) a few times without issue. I have it in a specially designed backpack so it's essentially my hand luggage. Last time they did give it a swab test but beyond that all has been grand.

As soon as you do not plan to fly your drone in the plane cabin, you are ok.

They are treated like any normal camera equipment. Swab tests are occasionally done too.

Well, that would create a 'buzz' in the flight, wouldn't it?

I didn't take the drone on the airplane. Unfortunately, I lost it and have a good guess of where it may have landed but

am opening a separate discussion here
