Advice on seeing rheumatologist

5 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I'd like to ask if you have any recommendation of rheumatologists in Berlin?  We've got some referrals from our family doctor. We called these rheumatologist clinics but they are all full and the waiting time is like over a year. This is crazy... My boyfriend has back pain which is caused by an inherited rheumatologist disease so one-year waiting time is way too long... How can he see a rheumatologist asap? He's covered by TK. Should he contact TK to ask for help instead? Or should he walk in the clinics without any appointment? What's the best practice? Any advice would be really helpful! Thanks so much!!

Hi @Dorirsita, I was wondering if you managed to find a Rheumatologist in the end? I have a chronic condition which I’m struggling with at the moment and also need have some tests done. I have referral from my doctor for this, but have been left to find the specialist myself, which is isn’t proving easy! I either can’t get through on the phone or I’m being told the have no space for new patients. I’ve even tried to email them. I’ve found a lot of doctors seem to be very far outside of Berlin too, which would take me an hour or more to get to!
