Do you know where I can buy wine opener, multi-tap connectors?

13 posts in this topic

I've been to Rewe, Real markt to look for some household stuff.

I could find most of what I needed in the Real markt.

However, for wine openers, multi-tap connectors, I can't find.

I can always go for online shopping, but I wonder if there are no any shops in Berlin that sell those offline.

For wine openers, try shops selling Schnickschnacks like Hat's, MacGeiz, Euro Shop.

Wine openers are also in department stores.

I don't know what a multi-tap connector is but it sounds like something one would find in a Baumarkt (building supply).

I take it you mean a wine corkscrew?

You can get either the professional / Italian style one which has various 'tools' folded into its body which in my opinion is the best to have, or a more traditional style one.

They're both usually available in most supermarkets on the bits & bobs / nicknacks rack.

I'm also in the camp of not knowing what you're talking about with multi tap connectors.

Can you give us a clue or tell us what it's used for and maybe we can help.

Wine openers are everywhere where you can buy wine, including REWE and real.

Maybe they look different in Korea, but the ones here look like this and cost 5 to 10 euro:

Or do you mean an automatic one? They can be found either in bigger REWE stores or real, ask the staff for elektrischer Weinöffner.

What is multi tap connector used for? Maybe there is a different device with similar function.

The magic word to buy this in Germany is "Kellnermesser".

I hope the OP isn't talking about something like this:

Yuck!

Asking for a wine opener might confuse folks.

Bottle opener or cork-screw are the more common names.

Bottle opener = Flaschenoffner

Cork-screw = Korkenzieher

Multi-tap connector?

Should we be looking in the plumbing, electrical or bolt thread cutting area?

Thanks for all of your helps!

Maybe next time I go to REWE, I'll look into it thoroughly.

For multi tap connector, I meant this:

Perhaps, people from my home country and I have been using the wrong term for this device.

To us on TT a tap is generally what you turn on in the kitchen or bathroom to get water, now maybe you see why we were confuddled

Those power things can be bought in any hardware store or electrical like media markt / saturn ... etc

In English its usually called a multi-socket extension lead/ cable

In German I'd say 'multi-steckdose (or multi-stecker) verlängerungs kabel'

Note that in your picture, the holes for the plugs are slanted at 45 deg.

(At an angle to the line of sockets) -- which is good !

There are still some on sale in Germany where these are at 90 deg.

Like this :

I recommend you get the 45 deg version.

The problem is that many plugs will interfere with each other

when trying to plug in or remove.

Just a thought...

Visited the real yesterday. They use the term Steckdosenleiste or even Steckdose 4-Fach or Steckdose 6-Fach (number of sockets). Sold where lamps and batteries are.
