Trump Campaign Knew Dominion Fraud Claims Were False, Memo Reportedly Shows—But Giuliani Still Pushed Them

Quote

The Trump campaign debunked election fraud claims involving Dominion Voting Systems’ voting machines days before Trump allies like attorney Rudy Giuliani started widely promoting those same allegations, court documents discovered by the New York Times show, suggesting the campaign knew the fraud claims were false but let them spread anyway.

According to the documents, released Monday in a state defamation case brought by Dominion’s security director Eric Coomer, the Trump campaign prepared an internal memo on November 14 at deputy communications director Zach Parkinson’s request that debunked multiple fraud allegations involving Dominion.

The campaign memo debunked claims alleging Dominion and its leadership had ties to Venezuela and “left wing ‘antifa’ activists,” and that Dominion had used voting technology from rival voting machine Smartmatic, whose machines were also involved in election fraud claims.

Less than a week later, Giuliani and far-right attorney Sidney Powell, who Giuliani said in a deposition were acting as “active supervisors” of the Trump campaign’s post-election legal challenges, pushed those same fraud claims about Dominion at a televised press conference at the Republican National Committee, in which they falsely alleged widespread election fraud and tied Dominion to Venezuela.

Giuliani said in a deposition cited in the court documents he was unaware of the memo before his press conference and suggested the staffers that prepared it “wanted Trump to lose because they could raise more money,” the Times reports.

The Times reports it is “unclear” whether former President Donald Trump, who has also pushed fraud claims involving Dominion, was aware of the memo, but notes members of the campaign “remained silent” about the allegations as they spread despite knowing they were untrue.

CRUCIAL QUOTE

“The memo produced by the Trump campaign shows that, at least internally, the Trump campaign found there was no evidence to support the conspiracy theories regarding Dominion,” Coomer’s attorneys wrote in the court filings, as quoted by the Times, arguing the campaign “continued to allow its agents … to advance debunked conspiracy theories and defame” Coomer, “apparently without providing them with their own research debunking those theories.”

CHIEF CRITIC

Trump allies including Powell, who’s facing multiple defamation lawsuits for her fraud claims, have continued to stand by the fraud allegations despite them being repeatedly debunked and legal challenges involving them failing in court. The far-right attorney has not yet responded to a request for comment, but recently described the purported fraud in the 2020 election as “essentially a bloodless coup where they took over the presidency of the United States without a single shot being fired” in a recent interview with the Australian Broadcasting Company.

Boom, ya dumb, gullible bitches!

As opposed to the real and bloody attempted coup of the Capitol with single shots fired...

"Don't panic buy, Britain tells consumers"

Quote

...Soaring wholesale European natural gas prices have sent shockwaves through energy, chemicals and steel producers, and strained supply chains which were already creaking due a shortage of labour and the tumult of Brexit.

After gas prices triggered a carbon dioxide shortage, Britain was forced to extend emergency state support to avert a shortage of poultry and meat.

Tesco (TSCO.L), Britain's biggest supermarket group, told government officials last week the shortage of truck drivers would lead to panic-buying in the run-up to Christmas if action was not taken.

Supermarket shelves of carbonated drinks and water were left empty in some places and turkey producers have warned that families could be left without their traditional turkey lunch at Christmas if the carbon dioxide shortage continues.

A Tesco spokesperson said the group currently had good availability though it said the shortage of HGV drivers has led to "some distribution challenges".

A spokesperson for No. 2 player Sainsbury’s (SBRY.L) said "availability in some product categories may vary but alternatives are available".

Supermarkets and farmers have called on Britain to ease shortages of labour in key areas - particularly of truckers, processing and picking - which have strained the food supply chain.

Not just with respect to the previous post but to similar ones in various threads (some no longer with us) but having returned yesterday from a 2 week visit to England I was amazed to see NO empty selves in any of the supermarkets I went in and no lack of beer in the pubs or indeed Weatherspoons where you can still get a good pint of bitter for less than 2 quid!.:D

"Capitol riot committee to investigate Trump allies"

Quote

The committee investigating the Capitol riot has issued its first subpoenas of President Trump's allies - including Mark Meadows and Steve Bannon.

The Democratic-led committee has demanded documents and called them to testify in mid-October.

A letter written by the committee's chairman suggests they were involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election that led to the deadly unrest.

Lawmakers are after information on Mr Trump's actions leading up to the riot.

The committee's first four subpoenas were issued to Mr Meadows, former White House chief of staff; Mr Bannon, Mr Trump's former advisor; former deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino; and Kashyap Patel, a former Pentagon chief of staff.

"The committee is investigating the facts, circumstances, and causes of the January 6th attack and issues relating to the peaceful transfer of power," the committee said in a letter on Thursday.

Well, @Janx Spirit, this seems to be a very bad day to be Trump, a Trumpist, or a Qanutter.

Hand count in audit affirms Biden beat Trump, as Maricopa County said in November

Quote

A monthslong hand recount of Maricopa County’s 2020 vote confirmed that President Joe Biden won and the election was not “stolen” from former President Donald Trump, according to early versions of a report prepared for the Arizona Senate.

The three-volume report by the Cyber Ninjas, the Senate’s lead contractor, includes results that show Trump lost by a wider margin than the county’s official election results. The data in the report also confirms that U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly won in the county.

The official results are set to be presented to the Senate at 1 p.m. Friday. Several versions of the draft report, titled “Maricopa County Forensic Audit” by Cyber Ninjas, circulated prematurely on Wednesday and Thursday. Multiple versions were obtained by The Arizona Republic.

The Cyber Ninjas and their subcontractors were paid millions to research and write the report by nonprofits set up by prominent figures in the “Stop the Steal” movement and allies of Donald Trump, but Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan said that would not influence their work.

The draft reports reviewed by The Republic minimize the ballot counts and election results and instead focus on issues that raise questions about the election process and voter integrity.

Election analysts say those findings are misleading and built on faulty data.

The draft report shows there was less than a 1,000-vote difference between the county's certified ballot count and the Cyber Ninjas' hand count.

The hand count shows Trump received 45,469 fewer votes than Biden. The county results showed he lost by 45,109.

Beat me to it. Seems Bennie Thompson understood the assignment.

Yep. and lest we forget he also:

On February 16, 2021, on behalf of Thompson, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) filed a federal lawsuit accusing Donald Trump of inciting violence on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol assault.

The suit came three days after Trump was acquitted in the second Senate impeachment trial for inciting the riot, in which five people died. After the acquittal, Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell said in a speech he voted to acquit Trump because he believes the Senate cannot try a former president, but encouraged litigation against Trump, saying: "We have a criminal justice system in this country. We have civil litigation. And former presidents are not immune from being accountable by either one."

Included in the lawsuit as defendants are Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and the two neo-fascist, far-right organizations Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. The lawsuit alleges that, by preventing Congress "by the use of force, intimidation, and threat" from carrying out its constitutional duties, the 2021 United States Electoral College vote count, Trump, Giuliani and the hate groups violated the 1871 Third Enforcement Act (also known as the Ku Klux Klan Act)

What happened to all the other threads on this board?

Our board was collateral damage of the EnglishForum (Swiss TT) alt-right drama and for unknown reasons every sensitive thread has been removed here too.  Maybe The Local is cleaning up here as well, maybe there are new forum policies or maybe evidence is been hidden from the big bosses.  No one knows, except the ones who do.
